Birchbox Man Short List: March 3

Need some talking points for your elevator rides and water cooler fill-ups? The weekly Birchbox Man Short List highlights our favorite conversation pieces from around the web. We do the browsing, you just show up and click. This week: a star-studded tweet crashes Twitter, "Star Wars" barware, Kanye loosens up on "Late Night," and more.

Ellen DeGeneres' Oscar Tweet Breaks Twitter, Destroys Record via Variety

The Oscar host tweeted a selfie featuring A-listers like Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Channing Tatum, Lupita Nyong'o, and Angelina Jolie. Ellen's aim? To break Barack Obama's retweet record of 780K. As of 9 a.m. EST today, she had more than tripled that record with 2.5 million retweets. Twitter momentarily went down during last night's telecast due to the traffic surge.

Jack Palance's opening line is golden. Then he does one-armed pushups. And that's just the first video.

Week One of "Late Night": Seth Meyers Interviews Kanye West via Late Night with Seth Meyers

We really like this mellow Kanye (as he discusses art, fatherhood, and SNL), but we especially love Meyers' ability to navigate the interview with aplomb. Kanye is a tall order, and we guess this is what it's like talking with him over beers. We'll be streaming lots of Late Night from now on.

An Oral History of Ghostbusters via Esquire

The world lost Harold Ramis last week, but this piece, published on the date of his death, sheds some light on how Ghostbusters originated (30 years ago!), with insight from Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Ivan Reitman, and others.
