Love Dry Shampoo? Meet R+Co’s New Dry Shampoo Paste

A wise woman (who may or may not be our co-founder and CEO) once said that “dry shampoo is modern day feminism” while heralding the wonder-product’s ability to simplify life for women on the go. And while we’re already devotees of R+Co’s Death Valley Dry Shampoo for allowing us to spend less time on our hair (and more on, you know, ruling the world), we’re even more excited about the brand’s latest launch: the Badlands Dry Shampoo Paste. Yes, dry shampoo paste—and what it lacks in aerosol it more than makes up for with convenience and hair-nourishing ingredients like Hawaiian-sourced volcanic ash (for gentle cleansing), coconut oil (for hydration), and argan oil (to protect hair from the elements).

You use it much like you would a styling paste: Rub a small amount between your fingertips (the warmth of your hands will morph the formula into a soft, powdery texture) and apply to your roots wherever you need to soak up excess oil and dirt. (I’ve personally been using it to tame my blunt, greasy-by-5 p.m. bangs.) Unlike a spray, which can be tough to control, the gray-translucent paste gives you a precise application that won’t have you walking around with white buildup at your part.

Badlands also scores points for versatility—in addition to using it to refresh second day hair, you can also apply the formula to damp hair before blasting with a dryer for mega volume (hello, post-gym touch-ups), or to the ends of surf-y waves for matte texture. Because the only thing better than a timesaving dry shampoo is a timesaving dry shampoo that can travel with us from the beach to the boardroom.
