Celebrity Favorite Beauty Products

We’ve all read enough US Weekly and People to know that celebrities don’t look like that all on their own. They have plenty of help, from professional stylists to full-time personal trainers. And then there are the beauty products—we’ve rounded up some of the top cult brands and the celebrities who swear by them. Maybe we can’t all have daily blow outs, but we can get in on these star products.

Erno Laszlo

Claim to Fame: Pioneered “The Ritual,” a four-step regimen that includes Laszlo’s famous 30-splash technique.

Celeb Devotees: Both European and Hollywood royalty, including Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, and the duchess of Windsor, as well as recent loyalists like Nicole Kidman and Zac Posen.

Signature Product: The Deep Sea Mud Cleansing Bar, which celebrates its 60th birthday this year, is made with therapeutic deep sea mud enriched with 26 minerals.

Fun Fact: Aubrey Hepburn once said, “50 percent of my beauty I owe to my mother, 50 percent to Erno Laszlo.”

Claim to Fame: A minimalistic, holistic approach to skincare that advocates quality over quantity when it comes to products. Lom's regimen includes a lymphatic drainage massage to decongest and sculpt the face.

Celeb Devotees: Kate Hudson, Eva Mendes, and Cate Blanchett all swear by Eve Lom's signature cleansing ritual and facials.

Signature Product: The balm-like EVE LOM Cleanser is made with four aromatic plant oils and is intended to be used with a specially woven 100 percent cotton muslin cloth.

Fun Fact: LOM’s inspiration comes from early years of helping her herbalist grandmother collect healing botanicals in Czechoslovakia.

Joanna Vargas

Claim to Fame: New York-based celebrity facialist Joanna Vargas has a reputation for dramatically improving her clients’ complexions after just one appointment. Her treatments are completely non-invasive and use only all-natural and organic products.

Celeb Devotees: Both Sofia Coppola and Rachel Weisz are regulars at Vargas’ spa.

Signature Products: Vargas ends many of her facials with a generous application of her Daily Serum, which has a hefty dose of anti-aging vitamins A, C, and E, as well as hyaluronic acid.

Fun Facts: Vargas has given treatments to many a professional athlete (including NBA player Steve Nash and Olympic fencer Tim Morehouse) before photo and video shoots.

Koh Gen Do

Claim to Fame: Founded by Japanese actress Ai Saotome, this line is designed to withstand long, hot filming conditions and look good in HD without damaging actors’ complexions.

Celeb Devotees: Lea Michele and Dianna Agron got hooked on Koh Gen Do’s Spa Water Cloths on the set of Glee—the show could barely keep them in stock!

Signature Product: Koh Gen Do Spa Cleansing Water is made from thermal water sourced from the Yumura hot springs in Izumo, Japan. White birch sap strips oils, bacteria, makeup, and other residue from the skin, while six essential herbs nourish and protect the epidermis.

Fun Facts: Koh Gen Do products have been credited in over 200 international films.

RMS Beauty

Claim to Fame: The first organic, raw mineral color range to be used by professional makeup artists.

Celeb Devotees: Miranda Kerr is a close friend and loyal supporter of RMS founder Rosie-Marie Swift. Swift inspired Kerr to develop her own makeup line and has been known to dogsit the Victoria’s Secret Angel’s yorkie.

Signature Product: Made up of a mix of organic oils and butters, the Lip2Cheek comes in six shades that can be layered on for greater intensity.

Fun Fact: Swift launched a website called Beauty Truth to educate women about the toxins and chemicals in beauty products. The site’s success inspired her to launch her own organic makeup line.

Claim to Fame: Every product from this Brooklyn brand is made in small batches with five or fewer ingredients, each of which is organic, fair-trade, or sourced from small farms in Maine, Minnesota, and Ghana.

Celeb Devotees: Ever since Gwyneth Paltrow raved about Sprout in a 2011 goop newsletter, these products have been in the spotlight.

Signature Product: Sprout Cream started it all. Made with fair trade shea butter and organic coconut and olive oils, the versatile cream can be used anywhere—face, body, and even your hair.

Fun Facts: Founder Adina Grigore began concocting her own skincare products after failing to find store-bought ones that wouldn’t irritate her sensitive skin.
