February 2014 Birchbox Contributors

When it comes to our monthly Birchbox Magazine, the phrase ‘it takes a village’ comes to mind. Here’s a look at just a few of the talented faces that contributed to this month’s issue!

Best Thing I Learned This Issue: In addition to being our Instagrammer-in-Chief, I might also have a promising side gig moonlighting as a nail art assistant! In Meredith's geometric nail art tutorial video, I helped clean up her cuticles while her polish dried between takes.
Latest Beauty Love: I've finally found the secret to amping up my fine hair! It’s a combo trick: First, I spritz Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray, then I use my Sedu Clipless Iron.

Best Thing I Learned This Issue: While working on Perfect Polish Pairs, I learned that you can mix cornstarch with glossy nail polish to get an instant matte look! I'll be sticking to matte top coats for now, but I'm definitely trying this the next time I feel crafty.
Latest Beauty Love: I've been using OPI Sheer Tints in Be Magentale With Me on days when I want a break from bright colors and bold nail art. It gives my nails a better-than-bare look—a perfect wash of sheer pink.

Birchbox Brand Campaign Strategy Manager
Best Thing I Learned This Issue: Writing is hard! But it helps when you're writing about something you really love, like my Juicy Couture obsession. (P.S.: Their new scent Couture La La Malibu doesn't disappoint.)
Latest Beauty Love: I’m late to the game with this one, but I discovered GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment Mask. The reviews don't lie—it’s amazing! French sea clay strips out dirt and oil without overdrying skin. It's the best mask I’ve ever used.

Deepica Mutyala

Senior Manager, Brand Campaign Strategy
Best Thing I Learned This Issue: Lori Taylor, Smashbox's Global Lead Makeup Artist, taught me a trick while we filmed How To: Night-Out Eye Makeup: Bending the end of your mascara wand will make it easier to get right to the root of your lashes.
Latest Beauty Love: I now swear by Mally Beauty’s Evercolor Poreless Face Defender. The formula gives my skin a matte finish without accentuating pores or fine lines. See ya, powder!

Lorelei Orfeo

Editor & Video Manager
Best Thing I Learned This Issue: This month I got to costar with Us Weekly's Beauty Director Gwen Flamberg in How To: Look Like A Celeb in Pictures, and she has tons of great tips. One tip that didn't make it into the video: Putting your hair up in a high pony can act as a minifacelift in photos. Who knew?
Latest Beauty Love: Camille Beckman Body Butter, which I've used every day since getting in my January Birchbox. Great for right when you get out of the shower!
