How to Defeat the Dreaded Wrimple with One Product

One of the skincare perks of being in ones early 30sor at least, so I thoughthad to be the curtain call for acne. My skin was never plagued by breakouts, but I definitely had my fair share of hormone-induced blemishes in my teens and stress-induced zits in my 20s. I was on to fighting the finer things in life, like the lines that had started creeping into my forehead and crinkles that began forming at the corners of my eyes.

And then, about a year ago, I had a rude awakeningliterally. I woke up, sleepily shuffled into the bathroom, and took that first tentative peek into the mirror only to spot a honking red pimple smack in the middle of one of the forehead creases I had dutifully applied wrinkle cream to the night before. Seriously?! I didnt have any acne treatments on hand, so I slathered it with concealer for a week until it went away.

Over the next few months, more individual pimples started popping up, not always on top of my fine lines but near themso many that I gave them a term of not-so-endearment: wrimples. This was uncharted territory for my skin, and I had no idea how to get rid of this double whammy. I tried surrounding spot-treaded blemishes with anti-aging serums, which led to irritation. I needed a product that would tackle both issues at the same time.

After a fairly long and fruitless search, I stumbled upon Paulas Choice RESIST Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator. Just from the name alone, it seemed like it could potentially be the solution to all my wrimple problems. The lightweight gel is specifically formulated to minimize acne and signs of aging: Its packed with antioxidants to help stimulate collagen production and fill in those fine lines. And it contains lactoperoxidase to kill pimple-causing bacteria, all while soothing skin and reducing red marks from breakouts.

After a few weeks of diligently applying the treatment during the day before my SPF and at night as the last step in my skincare rigmarole, the glaring red pimple dots had faded. And I noticed a slight softening in my forehead creases. My face also just felt softer in general. Will I ever get another wrimple again? Yes, I think theyre inevitable. But at least I have an effective weapon against the dreaded wrinkle-pimple hybrid.
