These Jungle Cats Will Break In Your Jeans, For a Price

We're suckers for that upper-thigh "whiskering" effect, but this is a tad ridiculous.

These days, guys do some pretty out-there things with their jeans: sticking them in the freezer to kill stench-producing bacteria, wearing them into the ocean, simply not washing them at all, or—craziest of all—washing them in a washing machine with regular detergent (not recommended). But this is the craziest denim news we've heard in quite some time: To raise funds for a renovation of the Kamine Zoo in Hitachi, Japan, Zoo Jeans is auctioning off denim that has been distressed by tigers and lions.

The jean-makers wrapped the animals' favorite toys (old tires, big rubber balls) with sheets of raw denim, and then basically just let the animals have at it. Check it out:

We're partial to the process of breaking in our own jeans (it's about the journey, man), but If the authentic distressing produced by human legs (not necessarily your own—you can pay for pre-broken in jeans through APC's Butler program) doesn't satisfy, we're all for shelling out more for the scratches and bite marks of a jungle cat! It's for a good cause, after all.
