Recreate 3 of Mad Mens Most Iconic Hairstyles

Megans Mod Coif

Hot rollers and teasing are key to Megans voluminous half-updo, but Rivers reveals that the real secret to her look is the addition of faux hair. After creating a Bardot-esque bouffant, attach a faux ponytail to give the illusion of major body. If your hairpiece isnt a perfect match with your natural shade, Rivers suggests using Rita Hazan Root Concealer to help bridge the color difference.

Joans Voluminous Updo

To get Joans saucy-yet-business-appropriate look, pair side-swept bangs with major volume at the crown of the head. Curling your hair first is key, says Rivers, since it will give it the texture and hold it needs to stay put. Follow by gently backcombing fine sections at the crown with a teasing brush (we like Spornette's Little Wonder) and incorporating them into a ponytail, bun, or French twist, then set with a finishing spray like Oscar Blandi Lacca Hairspray. (A form-fitting red dress is suggested, but not required.)

Bettys Classic Hollywood Waves

After curling one-inch sections of hair around a wand and securing with bobby pins, take a break and do your makeup, says Rivers, which will allow your curls to set and completely cool. Next, remove the pins and brush out the curls with Spornette's Luxury Cushion Brush to create Betty's beautiful, Marilyn Monroe-esque waves. Frame them around your face then set with Oribe Superfine Hairspraybut not too much. Having movement to your hair [gives it] a soft, sexy look, she explains.
