It all started in high school, when teenagers everywhere were bleaching their hair with the ubiquitous Sun-In. My friend and I went to a salon to get our first-ever professional highlights, and I was hooked.
From multiple salon visits a year to maintain my “natural” blonde hue to several flat iron sessions a week, my hair has taken a bit of a beating over time. You’ve, no doubt, heard of the Golden Rule. Well, I did not treat my hair very nicely and, in return, it hasn’t been doing me any favors.
That’s why I jumped at the chance to try out these products from Oribe’s Gold Lust line. The shampoo, conditioner, mask, and oil work wonders separately, but even better in tandem to revive dry, damaged hair. I started with the Repair & Restore Shampoo and Conditioner. They both use a blend of argan and maracuja oils and healing cypress extract to hydrate and rejuvenate, as well as a bio-restorative complex to strengthen strands from the inside out. My hair immediately felt softer after showering.
Then there’s the Transformative Masque—it uses a lot of the same ingredients as the shampoo and conditioner, plus other ingredients like white tea, baobob, and jasmine extracts to deeply nourish and condition hair and help protect it from future damage.
Before blow-drying my hair—proof of the daily heat torture I put it through—I added a pump of the Nourishing Hair Oil to fight frizz and add shine. And the scent! Oh, the heavenly scent. I dare you not to wash your hair multiple times a day in order to catch a whiff.
Since I started using these products, my hair has felt significantly softer, looked smoother, and has a nice sheen to it. The line has helped revive my damaged, overworked hair. I think it’s safe to say that the relationship between my hair and me has never been healthier.
