Teach Me How To: Use Hair Mousse

Step 1:

Shampoo, condition, and towel-dry your hair so its left damp to the touch.

Step 2:

Dispense a large dollop of your mousse of choice into your hands and rub them lightly together.

FOR STRAIGHT VOLUME: Oribe Grandiose Hair Plumping Mousse

FOR TOUSLED TEXTURE: Oribe Surfcomber Tousled Texture Mousse

Step 3:

Apply the mousse from roots to ends and comb through with either your fingers or a wide-toothed comb to distribute it evenly throughout your hair.

Step 4:

Style your hair as desired.

FOR CURL DEFINITION: Scrunch your hair in an upward motion to encourage your natural curl. Use a blow-dryer with its diffuser attachment. Cup the ends of your hair with the diffuser and work it towards your roots until hair is fully dried.

FOR STRAIGHT VOLUME: Split your hair into three large sections, working from the bottom to the top of your head. Use a blow-dryer with its concentrator attachment. Work a round brush underneath 1-inch sections of hair as you run the dryer over the top (holding the nozzle at a downward angle). Make sure to create tension with the brush so your hair is taut.

FOR TOUSLED TEXTURE: Air-dry your hair. As its drying, twist hair section by section and then gently scrunch in an upward motion.
