The New Body Wash and Lotion Power Couple

If you’ve been following Birchbox, you know that every month we give you a sneak peek at some of the products we’re sampling. For May, we’re switching things up and putting the spoiler power in the hands of one of our Birchbloggers. We gave Melissa Pereira, of Melissa’s Sweet Style blog, the chance to try Caldrea’s nourishing body wash and lotion, which some of you will be receiving in your May Birchboxes. Not only is she reviewing it on her site, but she’s sharing her opinion with us too—here’s what she had to say:

First impressions:

The packaging is so sophisticated and chic. Not a silly cartoon or fruit in sight! Next, I noticed that the body wash came with matching lotions. Genius—how many of us are buying body wash that smells like one thing and lotion that smells like something else?

Playing Favorites:

The aloe water apricot is perfect for spring and summer. It was fresh, bright, and slightly sweet but not overpowering. I also love that it's free of harsh ingredients like parabens and formaldehyde, which are not good for my sensitive skin.

Guest Opinions:

The hubby wanted in on the action so I let him pick a scent to try. He went with coconut fig leaf, and said it made him feel like he was on vacation—the lotion was surprisingly soft, but rich.

A Word to Wise:

The consistency is soft and silky (not thick and soapy) so I ended up pouring more on my bath sponge than I actually needed. A little goes a long way.

Bonus Points:

The scents are also available in a roller ball perfume. So you don't have to smell like cucumber in your shower, peach from your lotion, and musk from your perfume. I'm going to use my Birchbox points to get the perfume because it smells that good. I can't wait to try the tea olive lime one too!
