From his trusty fedora to his signature pompadour, Bruno Mars has never been shy about making a fashion statement (look no further than Super Bowl XLVIII’s halftime show for ample proof of that). He’s only been on the scene since 2010, but in those few short years his fashion sensibility—sort of a ‘50s throwback accented with futuristic colors—has made an immediate and lasting impression. Check out his most memorable style moments on the following slides.
Bruno went to his bolo tie collection and added a second Grammy to his awards collection, receiving “Best Pop Vocal Album” for Unorthodox Jukebox. Amazingly, he wasn’t the only winner sporting a bolo that evening. But credit goes to him for kicking off the trend.

Mars and his entourage looked pretty sharp in pink. The black lapels and trim gave the tuxes a solid finish and announced Mars as one of the industry’s best-dressed artists.
Mars sings about an attraction so powerful, it makes him feel like he’s been missing out on love’s limitless offerings. He sheds most of his routine garnishes for the club scenes in this video, but his simplified look—mixed with the song’s build and the video’s raving dance mob—makes us feel like we’re missing out on one heckuva party.
Scroll through any of Mars’ photo shoots to see his vast style range, but we bet you’ll find a favorite with this one from photographer Kai Z Feng, in which he embraces his Hawaiian heritage and naturally curly hair.

While we prefer a tailored fit for our own slacks, Mars brought this three-piece Thom Browne suit together with aplomb. What it lacks in color, it makes up for in timelessness. Besides, his performance in a gilded jacket that night atoned for any lack of color.

His 2013 tour featured multiple eye-catching outfits from Dolce & Gabbana, including bright red suits with ocelot-print tees. Our favorite is the more casual look: this brown vest and short-sleeve shirt, with a straw hat tying it all together.
