Hair industry veteran Tyson Kennedy was in constant search of a hair product that balanced substance and texture with a soft, matte finish. Displeased with the waxy options on the market, he took to the kitchen in his Lower East Side apartment to concoct his own. A year later, in 2010, Fatboy Perfect Putty was born. Friends got hooked, then salons, and soon demand outgrew that NYC shoebox. Now based in Kennedy’s native New Zealand, Fatboy sells its men’s hairstylers around the globe.
