A bushy beard can leave you looking like a young Ulysses S. Grant, or a shaggy and toothless ragamuffin. The difference is in the grooming. Make the right impression with this three-step kit: Beard Wash cleans and conditions with a rich blend of aloe, soy protein, and honey extract (no sulfates need apply). Beard Control tames whiskers with a soft, subtle hold, plus jojoba seed oil for a touch of shine. A boar bristle brush brings in the big guns, with reinforced bristles that keeps hair straight, smooth, and properly trained.
I normally buy my boyfriend beard stuff from small company's that are local but I decided I would give this a try because it came with a brush and he needed a new one. The brush leaves the bristles in his beard and they are just everywhere and the wash and leave in was a weird sent that he really doesn't like and neither do I.1
the product works good enough. but its so expensive for such a small size. I know it says 3 oz. on the bottle. that references weight. 3 oz. of toothpaste and 3 oz. of shaving cream are to very different volumes. if there was some way to make the images of products to scale or at least a known reference in the pics it would be great,1
The highlight of this package is far and away the brush. It's a bit coarse but once you get the hang of not pushing it into your skin, it really does a lot to smooth out the beard.
The wash feels like it really cleans up my beard and leaves it smelling subtle nice, albeit slightly dry. It lathers extremely well, which is important to get all of the Beard Control of your face.
The Beard Control styling product is BAD. Imagine if you mixed a tiny bit cheap hair gel with lotion. It's pretty much that. While if definitely delivers on the promise of "control," if found it made my beard stiff, prickly, and worst of all, would turn into white powdery residue if I ran my hand through my beard during the day.
I got this as a little treat for my bf with my points. I always use them on myself but decided to treat him. He loves the brush but he wasnt that impressed with the actual product.2
My husband really liked the wash but we agreed the the conditioner leaves his beard a bit crunchy though the smell is decent I guess just don't use very much?2
The wash is great, 5-stars and I will buy it from now on. The Grooming Gel - not that bad but I prefer an oil if I am to go to that level of dapper. The brush has been given a new job to brush of my Red Wing Boots... for which it is awesome, but, as a face brush - way too stiff. So averaged out a 3 all together.3
This is good for an entry level beard kit, the product has good smell to it, both the wash and beard control. As far as the wash goes all you have to use is a pea size amount because the stuff lathers up really well but didn't do a whole lot to soften my beard. The beard control did a good job making my beard straighter but wasn't that great at holding down the strays or making my beard softer. As far as the brush goes make sure that your face is completely numb before using because it feels like a Brillo pad.3
I bought this kit for my husband and he loves the brush and wash. I have noticed it keeps his unruly beard tame and it doesn't have an obnoxious or overpowering smell.3
This is a good product. I like the wash/conditioner items. The brush is pretty good too. But I wanted to write this because the brush is not "A boar bristle brush". It's plastic bristle, with boar hair accents essentially. Uncomfortable at first on the face/chin. It works well enough, don't get me wrong. But I felt mislead when I got the item.3
The brush was fantastic (my husband has a VERY coarse beard) because it was much firmer bristles than any other brush we've found. And the beard wash was fine...it smells very fresh and clean after he uses it but we were disappointed in the Beard Control. I knew it wouldn't be like a balm, and perhaps it is because his beard is exceptionally coarse, but it just didn't smooth and tame the mane like we had hoped. I would only recommend it to someone who has an already soft beard to help tame their whiskers.3
