Safety razor blades might be economical, but that doesn’t mean they compromise on quality. These blades by Derby Extra serve as exceptional ammo for any standard safety razor. Each double-edged specimen is forged from Swedish steel, and at a value of 20 cents per blade, their price will impress just as much as their edge.
These razors are good but not great. They work well but the price the not match compare to other competitors like shark or feather. I suggest to just by a 100 razor pack from amazon.3
I had been using the same brand of blades for years, but I think i'm going to switch. They are a good fit for my grandfathers razor; They are pretty great by my standards.5
Derby makes a good blade. If you are new to wet shaving, this might be the way to go. You can get closer and more aggressive with Feather blades, but if you don't want to risk nicking yourself, this is the one you want.4
I've used a lot of different safety razor blades and I would not recommend these to most people. They are less sharp than a lot of other brands. Some people say that they help with sensitive skin, but I don't have this problem so I couldn't say for sure.3
There are a lot of options when it comes to buying DE blades and these blades sit down toward the bottom.
Sure, they might work for your face, but I would say it is pretty unlikely. I have a face that is pretty forgiving with blades and there are probably 15 or so brands that I take no issue with. Derby is not one of these brands. Additionally, they generally carry low reviews. Nonetheless, I recommend all newbies get a sample pack and figure out what blades work the best for them, and a lot of these packs will include Derby's. Compare against other blades and I believe you'll be able to tell why these blades aren't for most.
I tried at least 10 different blade packs in samplers and I LIKE the Derby! Not expensive, I get a great close shave, and I think they're one of the best blades I've used! Maybe they're not for some, but don't count them out!!5
My husband loves these blades they fit. And flex perfect in his baxter safety razor. The safety razor was a really good investment and these blades are so affordable that you can have the luxury with a fresh blade each shave:)5
I think everyone who has switched (back) over to DE shaving has tried these blades, since we all end up ordering sample packs . Sadly, these don't perform well. If you want to stay with inexpensive blades, try Gillette Blue or even Wilkinson Sword. Or, buy a sample variety somewhere and see what works best for you.1
I've used these blades before joining Birchbox and they aren't good. You are asking for a unpleasant shave. Other better blades are available at approximately the same price point.1
These are really your bare bones de razor blade. You guys should really carry feather it would be far more worth it1
