Since the first cheeky rascal was shipped off to boarding school, stripes and bold insignias have defined the preppy style. Now, it’s time to push things forward. This tie brings some modern verve to the world of silken neckwear, mashing up an array of patterns to create something entirely new. From the blend of stripes and crests to the subtle backside pattern, this statement piece blazes a trail, making it a unique addition to any gentleman’s tie rack.
The tie was of much better quality than I had anticipated. The printed silk was done well, the mix and match patterns are nice. I really do love that Birchbox is including ties in their boxes on occasion. That said, I will never wear this tie. I don't even wear signature prints of brands that I like, much less those that no one has ever heard of. The print of the tie is a little esoteric, not particularly good looking, and much too specific for the sort of personality-defining motives that go into selecting a tie in the first place. If I wear it, how am I going to explain a dog and bones print when someone inevitably asks me about it? "I dunno, someone gave it to me!" I like the other Nick Graham ties that are on the site, why not pick one of those?3
Don't wear this tie for any formal occasion, but do wear it for casual cool or any occasion that doesn't really call for a tie, but you want to be the coolest guy in the room.3
Its a fun tie, no quite work appropriate for me but great for a wedding or nice night out. I like the pattern and style and it seems like it is made well.4
Finally got a chance to wear it out for the night on the weekend. Not really work focused but works fine with jeans, button down and vest I thought.4
Wear it with a suit. Wear it with khakis. Wear it on your head in a drunken daze at the next office party. Smooth, silky, and classic.5
Great quality tie! Kind of a "different" pattern than what I am used to. But it definitely will start a conversation when worn with a solid black suit.4
So if you have to wear a tie to work, you could do a lot worse than this one. I am constantly getting double takes and compliments on this tie. All the better since i didn't actually pay for it. But I would if i had to!4
I am in a very professional environment (oil and gas). and although none conventional with the "oil and gas" look it has opened up more opportunities than some networking events. Every time I wear this tie I get a compliment which in turn is a connection with another person.
Love the design and the quality!
I work in a professional environment where this tie would likely be frowned upon, but I have worn it several times on the weekend. Always recieves compliments.3
My first impression was COOL, A TIE! But after unpacking it and trying it on, it just seemed a bit much. Also, the feel of the tie itself is cheap. I think that's really the deal with it. It just doesn't feel like a solid, high quality material. I have quite a few ties already that range from $20-30 and the quality of those ties appears to be superior to this one.3
