At the height of British sea power, a tin of wax was all a man needed to make himself presentable. And that time has come again. This multipurpose wax is a bona fide cure-all, providing a quick fix for almost any grooming mishap, from dry skin and razor burn to a rowdy bit of bedhead. Still a tad skeptical? Just carry it around for a day or two, and see if there’s anything this wonder can’t fix.
It won't work quite as well on chapped lips as lip balm, it won't work quite as well on dry skin as lotion, and it won't quite keep hair in place like a hair product. But in a pinch it's great stuff to have around. It's not a gel (right?) so I keep it in my carry-on when traveling. Very convenient.5
I really liked this sample and ended up purchasing the full-size product. Multipurpose indeed! Initially bought it for my beard but now find myself using it not only on my beard but also on my head - it's even great for taming rogue eyebrow hairs! My skin is prone to getting really dry in the winter months and it has worked wonders for my hands and dry, cracked knuckles. My only complaint would be this: One of the reasons I bought it is because I really liked the way it smelled - kinda an 'earthy' guy smell. My small sample still smells like that - unfortunately after a few months of use the fragrance in my large tin is gone and now just smells like any other wax product. But all-in-all still a Birchbox favorite!4
I carried this little guy in my pocket, much like the description recommended. Throughout the day I get those stubborn hairs sticking up in the back and this smoothed them straight down. Also nice for cuticles.5
My boyfriend uses this every time he gets out of the shower. He uses it on his face and his arms. He likes the way it smells, and he likes having a little bit of sheen to his skin. I got this for him for Christmas, and he was pretty happy about that! Only reason I give it four stars is because it can leave a bit of a sticky feel to his skin before it soaks in all the way... I'm not exactly all about that, but it does smell really nice!4
I've been using this for the all over effect. Especially the elbows. You think I"m kidding...you'd be amazed at how much attention is drawn to your elbows. This wax smells great...love the Bergamot. Not much on using it for the hair but as an all over wax I highly recommend it!5
I use this product as a lotion, after shave and to tame some wild hairs. I love this product, comes In a net tin can too.4
Got this as a sample in a box and bought the large one. I use it everyother day or so. It is pricey. Interested to see how long this last me. That would be the only downside of this product.5
I got this in my box during the spring & was kinda "meh" about it, but this stuff is awesome during the dry winter. Great on the elbows, hands, face & beard. Only use it on hair as a freshener; there's no hold at all - But it really works great on my beard (along with the elixir). Although it took me a while to get used to, I get lots of compliments on the smell. I tend to put it on throughout the day.
Be sure to keep the tin in a cool place, its gets funky when exposed to heat (I wish I could carry it around in my pocket). If that happens just pop in the fridge.
You really can use this all over. It has a nice woodsy scent and goes a long way. I've had the sample for months and still have some left. I like to dab in a little water to spread it around better.5
This product works well for hair. It did get a little grainy when exposed to heat. This is my only complaint.4
