With everything we do to our hair—the constant coloring, the blow-drying, the chemical straightening—there are times we think we should just put it out of its misery with a drastic chop. But this restorative shampoo lets us give our strands a new lease on life (without having to regrow them from a pixie cut). This formula is handmade in Texas, and based around ingredients grown in the state: aloe vera to hydrate and soften hair, sunflower seed oil to protect from heat, and rose of Jericho to perk up tired strands. UV filters keep color from fading. What's more, it's without phosphates (so its safe for keratin-treated hair) or sulfates (so its perfect for color-treated 'dos too)—meaning we can keep on enjoying the look we dyed and fried our hair for in the first place.
The shampoo is has a harsh, chemical smell, and if you get it in your eyes, you will sure know it. Too many great hair products out there to mess with this one.1
This shampoo is wonderful. At first, I was timid to try because of the strong scent, but you get used to it. After you've dried your hair the smell is very minimal and not overpowering.4
The smell reminds me of hippies and it leaves a gross grease feeling to my hair after I have jumped out of the shower and blow dried my hair (with no product in it).1
I really like the Dear Clark products. My only issue with this shampoo is that it is pretty thin and it would be nice if it was a little thicker so that it does not run out of my hand. I like the fragrance but you should be aware that it can be a bit over powering to some people.4
my daughter loves this shampoo and conditioner....I unfortunately cannot get past the smell. It a scent that turns my stomach and I always can smell it when she has used it. The scent fades a little as your hair dries but not enough. I can smell it even if she hasn't washed her hair for 2 days! Not a fan!!1
As a hairdresser I am always leary and excited to try hair products! This is a very nice reconstructing shampoo and conditioner! My hair felt amazing afterwards4
I need to wash my hair everyday and this shampoo has been great! It is gentle enough for daily use and doesn't weigh my hair down. It has a nice herbal scent. My BFF complimented me on it and my BF says I smell like a hippie - he uses it too :) The texture of the shampoo is very thin and watery so you have to be careful not to pour too much out, but you don't need much to still get a good lather.4
This is the best shampoo I have ever tried. A very little goes a long way. My hair is dyed and this shampoo keeps the color from fading. Try it- you will not be sorry!5
I sampled this a long time ago and finally decided to purchase the full size. It has a woodsy, "aromatherapy" type scent that I would consider unisex. It's strong while you're actually shampooing your hair, but it fades into something very soft and pleasant.
The shampoo itself is a little runny and thin, but this isn't a bad thing because it still lathers up. The best thing is that my hair, which is color treated, heat styled, naturally wavy and frizzy, feels softer, fuller, and silker than it ever has when I use this combined with the Dear Clark conditioner. I'm so glad I decided to buy this - it's been totally worth it.
The smell of this shampoo is amazing! I love the clean, woodsy scent. Along with the Dear Clark conditioner, my hair is soft, smooth and smells SO good!!5
