Many shaving aids foam and froth dramatically, but that doesn’t mean they’re offering your face protection through a shave. Prepping your face with a quality pre-shaving formula—one that sits directly against the skin—will ensure you’re safe from nicks, bumps, and irritation. True to its name, John Allan’s pre-shave solution creates a super slick and super protective primer coat, over which you can apply your usual shaving solution. Think of it like the Zamboni that smoothes and cools the shaving surface, allowing your razor to glide like Apolo Ohno.
I currently use The Art of Shaving pre-shave oil. I LOVE this oil I use. This may influence my opinion on this product, but this doesn't compare to the pre-shave oil I use. Perhaps it could be good with those with oily skin who are looking to avoid oils. Otherwise, this just isn't the best available product.2
Not a big fan of the pre shave stuff. I do however use the art of shaving pre shave oil. I'm more satisfied with that product over this one.2
I don't shave much so this isn't so useful for me. I also go through these bottles very slowly and likely will never finish it2
This stuff seemed to kind of break me out. I had several bumps after shaving. It seemed to have the opposite effect. But that just might be my sensitive skin2
I am not that into this product. I typically use a name brand that I get at my local health and wellness supplier. It's significantly cheaper and works just as well.2
Seems silly to add another step to the shaving process. Not really necessary.2
I use an oil-based pre-shave. This product didn't have the same feel of providing a shield of lubrication.2
to be honest when used under zirh shave gel i couldn't really tell a difference. i could see how it would be great will another shave cream or gel but i think zirh on its own is fine.2
I'm not sure what to think of this product. Perhaps I didn't use enough, but I actually cut myself after using this product... twice.2
The guy who spends money on this product likely already uses a high-end shave lotion, which I would think renders this a redundancy. Yea, it goes on smooth and gets your face slick, but no more than the shaving lotion I'm also putting on. So nice idea, but why take another step and use yet another product?2
