Why mess with run-of-the-mill ingredients in your skincare products, when you know you deserve the power of an evolutionarily advanced superfruit on your side? eshu, an Australian brand, calls upon the powers of the indigenous Quandong fruit to give you an extra soothing shave. This latherless gel cuts out all of the mess of foaming agents and keeps your shave as simple and clean as its handsome military-style canister.
I would recommend this for others looking for a nice shaving gel. It has a nice smell to it, feels great on the face. Produces a clean shave.1
It was slimy in texture, to be honest, I had to work very hard to get a mild lather and the sad part was- usually I never have to shave for several days after shaving. I shaved last night and had stubble this am. Not a fan. I did find the smell pleasing and innocuous. It was also moisturizing.1
not a fan of the new shaving "gel" movement. It makes it hard to shave when you cant see what you have or have not shaved. I felt this gave a rough shave at best.2
While l loved the sample size I received as part of my Birchbox shipment, and the product's scent, after using Eshu Shave Gel for a week I find that it's just not as effective as other gels and foams I have used. I broke out a new Gillette Fusion razor to test it, and even with its five blades I still have a reasonable amount of stubble after using Eshu. I really wanted to love it, and perhaps if your daily beard growth is light (I'm fairly heavy) it would work well, but for me it was just so-so. Not horrible, but there are definitely better products, at least for me, out there.2
I love getting the full size version of this product. Smell was earthy and I dug it. Using my wet shave setup of a Feather Blade and Merkur 37c I was a bit disappointed in this gel. I don't care that it didn't lather, though it was harder to tell if you hit a spot or not. It wasn't super slick and I got a fair amount of blade drag. Even after 2 passes I couldn't get a clean shave like I do with soap and brush. I tried the product a few other times, only to end up just having to lather up another product to get a clean shave.3
The Shave gel feels fine. Doesn't really stand out from any other shave gel.3
I thought that the Outback might have some sort of mystery ingredients that would help with my irritation, but it didn't really help out on my skin. Also, after one of my shaves, I applied a little more for extra lather and it actually felt it was irritating it.
As far as the smell, it was a little unpleasant, almost smelled like tar. I did like that you didn't need as much Eshu gel to get a good lather, but I'm bummed that I didn't get the zero irritation results. Other than that, Birchbox was very generous with the size sent.
This is my story and I'm sticking to it.
It's not really a gel, it is pretty much a liquid. It does the job well enough.3
I was stoked to get another shave gel from Birchbox. the previous 2 I had received was Anthony Logistics shave cream and ZIRH Shave Gel. I bought a full size version of the ZIRH after my first shave. While this stuff definitely kills the foamy drug store competition - I'm not sure Id buy if over the Anthony or ZIRH gel.3
ive always been on the fence with gel shaving products some of them to oily and some that just don't do the job at all this product was one of the better ones i have used didn't leave my face feeling greasy afterwards like most but that would be the only good comment i would have for this product just not for me but certainly give it a try3
