White Eagle combines the two things every guy is looking for in a shaving agent: classic simplicity with superior performance. Infused with cooling menthol and emollient sesame oil, it's a runaway best seller of the Kiehl’s cabinet. A rich, creamy formula acts like a form of whisker whisperer, coaxing beard hairs into submission.
This product was awful. It went on thick and gummy. By the time I was finished shaving, it had gotten clogged between the blades of my razor, and it was a pain to clean. Forget about trying to get it off your hands or face with just a splash of water. You'll need to scrub with a washcloth.1
Brushless shave cream? Brushing is my favorite part of the process! I was really put off by the feel of this product, and the smell as well. Granted, the shave was pretty good. But this has no place in my routine.1
I love Kiehl's products usually. Their soaps and what not, but this shaving cream was not for me. I use a double edged safety razor and this stuff kept clogging the thing up. I kept having to remove the blade and cleaning it off just to get through one shave. It didn't lather at all, it didn't go on smooth, the razor didn't have that "glide" you like to get... but the final product was fine... it just took forever to get there! No thanks.1
It says you don't need water to shave with it...but it was too dry and water got on my razor after I rinsed it and it mixed with the product and it made it worse. Does not work well with water and it's hard to get a smooth shave. I would not recommend this product!2
Not a great example of a brushless shave cream. My biggest gripe is with the consistency. It lubricates well enough but the paste/gel gummed up my double edge razor. No amount of hot water cleared the blade while it was installed - I had to remove the blade to wash away the residue.2
I didn't like the feel of this. At all. While I do like Kiehl's moisturizers and anti-aging products, this one is just not for me.2
This shaving cream goes on very thin, likely because you don't use any water with it, which is what causes a cream to lather. I also feel like it caused more nicks than my usual cream (Proraso).2
Shave cream? felt like a lotion and made shaving horrible. No thanks2
I use a light coat, but still even after "cutting" the product with water it caked on Harry's blade making the shave cumbersome.2
I normally wet shave with a hard shave soap and brush. I followed the instructions on the BirchBox site, NOT those on the product itself, and applied to a damp face. The shave was not bad. I didn't get as much glide as I would like, but the menthol-y scent was not bad and it didn't dry out before I was done with my shave. I could see using this on a day where I'm too rushed for all the prep and cleanup associated with my normal routine. That said, I have to give it two stars because the package says you don't need any water, and trying to shave with any product without wetting your face first would be a nightmare.2
