Intelligent grooming products know how to solve one problem without creating another. PETER THOMAS ROTH’s Beta Hydroxy Acid 2% Acne Wash is full of ingredients to clear away blemishes, without any of the harsh additives that could cause additional irritation and breakouts. Effective without being drying, it’s formulated without dyes, fragrances, or oils.
So far, so good! I've used this product for about a week now and some of the redder areas on my face have been diminishing. Some people don't really like the fact that this product may leave your face feeling slightly dry and tight, but this is a strong, effective acne wash, that's kinda the point isn't it? After using this I immediately apply a good facial moisturizer and voila, no more dry skin! Excited to see the results after a few more weeks!5
As warned on the bottle, this dried my skin out extremely bad in certain areas when i started using it. I wash my face twice a day so i just rinsed quickly and used a lot of moisturizer afterwards. At first i think the drying out helped to prevent some breakouts but it didn't last. I ended up switching to something else before i finished the bottle, which lasted a few months.2
This is perfect for people with a little bit more problematic skin. It doesn't dry you out as bad as some of the other products but this also will help fight blemishes. So far, I've been very impressed.5
If you read most of my reviews, you'll see that once something breaches the $30 mark my expectations climb and I become very picky. I was hesitant to drop $30 on a facial cleanser, but this stuff has been great so far. The bottle is huge, and about a dime sized amount will cover your whole face, so one bottle should last you a good long while. It's one of the better (if not the best) salicylic acid based cleanser I've tried and I'd recommend it to anyone who's averse to benzoyl peroxide face wash (as I am). My only critique is it can over dry your skin if you're not careful, but this also has to do with my skin type and skin care routine.5
This was really harsh on my skin. It caused it to feel overly tight and my skin to peel. Maybe the trick is to use it once in awhile, but it did not work as a daily face wash for me.2
This face wash is pricey but completely worth it. It really works and has cleared up my acne. I won't be using anything else from now on. It is a great product, the best acne face wash I have ever used!5
Until this, I hadn't found a face wash that I was loyal to. I have tried many and noticed that after a while it seemed my skin got used to it, and it stopped working. So far this has not happened with this product. I have been using it for a few weeks now, at a time when hormones had my face breaking out all over, and it has been slowly clearing my face up. More so, it's really gentle, which is surprising to find in a acne wash. It has never burned, irritated, or dried out my skin like so many other washes have.5
This product is great! I've been struggling with acne for 15 years and my skin has never been so consistently clear.5
As someone who has used many acne facial cleansers in the past, I found this face wash to be gentle yet effective. It doesn't foam up much but has a pleasant smell and hasn't over-dryed my skin.4
I was using proactive for the last 8 years and I had "okay" success with proactive. This product has been great for my body and face.
I use this product with the clairsonic on my face, right after I use the Sukiface exfoliating scrub. Love this combo and my complexion has never been better. I also use this on my body as my shoulders, neck and chest are prone to acne. I have seen a noticeable difference.
