When you need a stiff drink to unwind, nothing should come between you and your spirit of choice. Unlike ice, which spurs you to throw back your rye before it gets watered down, pre-chilled Whisky Stones® won’t melt. Made from Vermont soapstone, the non-porous cubes won’t absorb or alter the essence of whatever you’re sipping. They’re an ingenious way to keep your spirit chilled and unadulterated.
These are good stones for your whiskey. The only bad thing is is that they get warm quickly. It helps to have the whiskey chilled when you use them. A plus is that with using these stones, your drink doesn't get diluted.3
I purchased mine several years back, and simply love them. The caveat to the stones is that you must remember to clean them properly and let them dry before putting them back into the freezer. They do a great job cooling, however they do not cool as much as ice. For me, this is fine because I don't like my whiskey all that cold. Some people do though, and for them this might be problematic. It changing how you drink whiskey a little because you expect your whiskey to became diluted as it becomes cooler, but it doesn't. So the taste you associate with a certain temperature changes, and it initially might through you off.5
I got this for my boyfriend and he loves them. He's a scotch drinker, and he hates when the ice melts and waters down the taste. Getting him these was the best gift I could give him!5
I purchased the Teroforma Whisky Stones for my brother for Hanukah. He loved them! Great product for yourself or as a gift-enjoy!5
Saw this the first month i subscribed to birchbox but didn't get it in mine so i decided to go out and buy it. I think its the best for drinks, i hate using ice so the stones are a great alternative for my drinks. I use it every time, sometimes just use them to show them off to my friends.5
I was so excited about these, but they fail: they idea is to cool the whisky without changing the flavor (from the addition of water), but these stones add a flavor of their own. I can taste them, and it's not pleasant. The also didn't seem to cool the whisky well at all, despite claims that they stay colder longer than ice.2
I love these stones, they look awesome and are great to start party conversations. True they aren't as cold as ice, but also don't melt - I find them great for slightly chilling straight liquor.5
This is perfect for the fellow that wants to cool his drink down without diluting it. Works best combined with a chilled tumbler. They can easily be cleaned. The hardest thing to do is remember to use them.4
Nice to use when I remember to freeze them lol. Give your drink a nice cool temperature but not as cold as you get from ice. But then again it doesn't water down a nice scotch.4
stone doesn't hold the amount of coldness that ice does. Google it.
If you don't want to water your bourbon down, freeze larger shards of ice. The density and lower surface area keeps it from melting as fast.
Also, drink faster.
