Inspired by the complex character of the world’s most iconic flower, perfumer Jerome Epinette set out to create an unconventional rose fragrance. The result is this brand new blend, which features rich floral notes undercut by a spicy, smoky trail. Romantic and bold, it avoids the cloying sweetness of most rose-based scents, with a concentrated formula that lends a single spritz some serious staying power.
I wouldn't say that rose is one of my favorite scents, but if it's the right combination of rose and other notes I do like it. My husband absolutely hated it though. I tried wearing it on one other occasion while out with friends and they had similar opinions. Personally, I think it smelled a little overly floral and the description others have given of "grandma's soap" was very close to how I felt. I liked the concentration, and might try other fragrances from this brand, as a small amount went a really long way, but I will not purchase this (or even wear the sample again).1
I prefer light scents and this was way too musky for me. It was harsh and heavy, but if you like a bold scent you may like it.1
I've always liked rose scents but they sometimes can be a little much for me. This scent is perfect for me. Will probably buy a full size when the sample is gone.1
I have two other Atelier Colognes that I have purchased through Birchbox that are absolute favs!!! This one just did not do it for me. Rose is just a smell I have never liked in cologne nor has my guy.1
Perhaps on some women this fragrance would pop, but it didn't work for me. Plus, the floral mixed in presented a confusing tone.1
I have never been a big fan of rose scented things, so that might be why I don't like this at all. It reminded me of a rose-scented Barbie I had when I was little. Nice memory, but not one I want to wear as an adult. Very artificial!1
This smells like my dead grandmas bathroom soap. It made me think of her, but god, what an awful smell.1
Wow, I REALLY did not like this perfume. It's a rose scent, as advertised, which I'm not especially fond of to begin with. But in addition, it's really overpowering. I think you'd have to want to smell like 10,000 grandmothers to wear this.1
This fragrance is really tailored to only specific people: people who love rose scents. I am not a fan, therefore tossed this. I have received several atelier perfumes before such as vanilla and enjoyed that one. Rose, not my scent1
This wasn;t my style. Hard to write a review of a purfume since everyone has differant taste but I didn't like it. It was very strong and gave me a headache.1
