The best musical experiences in life are shared—and we’re not just talking about the Pearl Jam concert you attended with your buddies in the early ’90s. Whenever you want to hear the music played loud—at the beach, say, or in a hotel room—a good bet is this snappy-looking Portable Speaker. Available in design-centric zebrawood or rosewood finishes, it promises to please both your inner DJ and your inner aesthete.
I was unable to hear the sound quality because of an electro-static noise the speaker produced each time I plugged my iPhone in. I used a couple different cords with the same results. That said, it feels like its a solid little device but not something I would ever buy if I saw it in a store. If I were buying a portable speaker, I'd be looking for one that had at a minimum Bluetooth and preferably AirPlay. Definitely not the product for me.1
Aesthetically this speaker is great. The wood grain is a breath of fresh air from your typical cheap, plastic speaker. However, that's about the only good thing about this speaker.
The sounds are garbled and there is way too much distortion going on. I may have received a defective speaker, but I have to believe they spent more time designing the housing of the actual speaker then procuring audio components.
My iphone sans speaker is louder, more clear and overall a better listening experience than using this little box.
The Speaker looks very cool sitting on my desk, but the sound quality is horrendous. Not even usable bad.1
I appreciate the design of this speaker but don't feel that the sound quality matches that of my desk top speakers. I'm not sure where else I would ever use it.1
Cool looking little speaker, but a bit pointless in my opinion.1
I was hoping to get this in my box. I guess I got lucky, I plugged everything in and this might have provided the worst sound from a portable speaker I have heard. Anything over $5 is too much in my opinion. The one thing this product has going for it is that it has a unique look.1
I was rather disappointed to find this product in the box. It looks and performs like something form the dollar store. It will sit a drawer somewhere for the next 3 years.1
Sounds horrible if there are active cell phones nearby. Horrible oversight - everyone carries cell phones around these days. Would recommend Boomz Audio instead if you need a small portable speaker.1
Pretty much a "throw away" item. I didn't expect audiophile quality; therefore I wasn't disappointed ;-)1
This may be a cool product, but I will never know as it broke within 5 minutes of taking it out of the box. Tried to plug in headphones and the entire inner piece collapsed into the box itself, so now all I have are a few holes where the ports and on/off switch were supposed to be, the rest is inside the wooden box. For $30 for a tiny little speaker I would expect much higher quality than that--would not recommend anyone pay actual money for this.1
