Ease the pain of chapped lips with this Brooklyn-based brand’s all-natural balms. Packaged in a tin not unlike the one that houses your favorite mints, this set of four balms (Peppermint, Cocoa, Cinnamon, and Citrus) is like a beeswax-based buffet. Each flavor soothes dry, cracked mouths without any residue or shine.
So to start, I am not a chocolate fan. Sometimes I can go for a couple of pieces of milk chocolate morsels, but for the most part, chocolate and things flavored with cocoa --- not appealing.
That's why this product is getting three stars from me. As far as the actual product goes, its lip balm. It did what lip balm does. I do feel as though it didn't my lips as moisturized as my travel-sized tub of vaseline.
Great balm - but I hated the smell. I didn't even want to wear it when I might be giving a kiss :)3
The product itself moisturizes my lips better than the Burt's Bees I've been using, however, I bought the flight and I feel like the entire set has been tainted by the scent of the cocoa lip balm. I'm currently using the citrus and all I smell/taste are tootsie rolls. It's very weird! I tried the cinnamon and all I get is a spicy tootsie roll...3
this product smells exactly as it says it should. It's just ok. I have lips that can get dry and this product is just ok. I wouldn't spend so much for this product. I love the smell, but CVS has many brands for cheaper that offer a longer lasting sheen.
I appreciated getting a full sized sample of this product as oftentimes it takes several uses to see the results of a lip product. The flight is a pretty awesome idea, though I wished that they had more flavors so that you can pick and choose to customize your flight. Another minor critique is the design of the tube. I much more prefer having a slanted tip to apply the balm, so I tend to purchase lip balms with those designs for quick and easy application.3
I like that this product is natural but I can't get past the smell. I don't like cocoa at all. I think if it had a different scent I would enjoy it. I like how it feels on my lips but the smell turns me away.3
I agree with many of the reviews - the flavor/scent of the cocoa lipbalm was just too overwhelming. I was very happy with the texture and natural ingredients but it smells like fake chocolate.3
I got the cocoa scent in my October BB. I was really excited to try it since I have an issue with chapped lips and have a hard time finding chapstick that actually works!
It does a great job bringing back moisture to my lips and I bet it would help heal them if I used it more often. But I don't use it that often because of the scent. I'm sure the citrus and peppermint smell nice, but the cocoa is over powering. It reminds me of a cheap "chocolate flavored" lip gloss I got at the roller-rink as a kid.
I hope they work on their scents because the product it a good one. If they end up making newer scents, I would consider buying.
The lip balm felt great on the lips and didn't feel like I needed to reapply often. How ever I am not at all a fan of sweet lip balms. I prefer mints.3
I love how moisturizing the product is, but the soybean smell is very overpowering. My husband won't kiss me until I've rubbed it in thoroughly.3
