If you’re rocking a fragrance inherited from your old man, or relying on a goopy deodorant stick for your olfactory game, it’s time to mix things up. Kick off your new scent strategy with this subtle, summery eau de toilette from Motor City designer John Varvatos. It’s the fragrance equivalent of your favorite jeans and a just-washed tee: classic, cool, and easy-going. Even the packaging—a flask wrapped in hand-woven rattan—exudes laid-back class.
This scent is really woodsy. I don't get the "subtle" or "summery" part that is advertised. I think it smells like Ivory soap, if Ivory soap was a cologne. Individual chemistry might vary the effect. but I don't really like it.2
This scent wasnt for me. I did however give it to a friend of mine who really enjoyed it.2
I received this in my box and even though it's a male fragrance, I tried it for myself (I often wear men's colognes). I loved the smell, but unfortunately, it just wasn't noticeable enough - even with a good amount of the small sample bottle on me! Honestly, the scent was so faint. Too faint, really.3
This scent is "subtle," but almost too subtle... it kind of feels like you're spraying on oil for a second and then the scent fades quickly.3
I wouldn't purchase this scent but I surprisingly like it. Smells sexy & clean. The scent lasts a long time which is good.3
The citrus comes through, and reminds me of the outdoors. Not my favorite scent, but I'm definitely a fan of it every once in a while at least3
I gave this to my boyfriend and it smells, well, just ok. He has worn it maybe once. There is just something a little too musty about it.3
I received this in a women's Birchbox, but I'm pretty sure I've seen this in the Men's fragrance section at Nordstrom. I'm all about trying new fragrances and some men's fragrances are nice on my skin... but I think I would have to give this one to my boyfriend. This should be in the Men's birch box :) Very cool packaging, though! I wish it was a parfum.3
I thought the fragrance was not overwhelming, and I really liked the fact that I could wear it to the office without overpowering people. Overall, I liked it, but I wasn't in love with it enough to buy it.3
I have to say, my husband hardly ever wears cologne (read: Valentine's Day and anniversaries only and usually when I hint about using some). He really really liked this. It's nice and casual and not that usual heavy male fragrance that you are used to smelling as you walk thru department stores. Nice!3
