If you’re rocking a fragrance inherited from your old man, or relying on a goopy deodorant stick for your olfactory game, it’s time to mix things up. Kick off your new scent strategy with this subtle, summery eau de toilette from Motor City designer John Varvatos. It’s the fragrance equivalent of your favorite jeans and a just-washed tee: classic, cool, and easy-going. Even the packaging—a flask wrapped in hand-woven rattan—exudes laid-back class.
The scent was nice - totally unisex and fresh. But like some of the other reviewers said, the scent seemed to just evaporate after an hour or so. I would have liked if it had lingered a little longer.2
I thought it smelled ok, until I really took a whiff. I'm not a fan.2
I thought the smell was very musky and heavy. I prefer lighter perfumes. It almost smells like a mans cologne2
The scent did not linger like a good cologne should. It also kind of smelt like a girls perfume. Not something I would want to give to my boyfriend.2
When I received this promotional sample in my box, I followed through with the instructions to give it to a male friend. I think it would be better to have said friend rate the scent but, in my opinion, it was too alcohol-y and musky. It did not have a clean, fresh scent. Further, I was a little bummed to give up space in my box for a guy's product. I already promote the box to my friends (both genders) and would rather get fun girl items for my month's samples.2
Not great - although packaging of full size is nice.2
This scent is really woodsy. I don't get the "subtle" or "summery" part that is advertised. I think it smells like Ivory soap, if Ivory soap was a cologne. Individual chemistry might vary the effect. but I don't really like it.2
This scent wasnt for me. I did however give it to a friend of mine who really enjoyed it.2
This smelled like boy, and maybe that was the point? I gave it to my husband to use. I don't think he has, but I know I wasn't1
Not exactly a fan of this cologne, it smells a little bit musty to me. I was sort of confused as to why I was getting mens cologne in my birchbox.1
