If you’re rocking a fragrance inherited from your old man, or relying on a goopy deodorant stick for your olfactory game, it’s time to mix things up. Kick off your new scent strategy with this subtle, summery eau de toilette from Motor City designer John Varvatos. It’s the fragrance equivalent of your favorite jeans and a just-washed tee: classic, cool, and easy-going. Even the packaging—a flask wrapped in hand-woven rattan—exudes laid-back class.
This scent takes me back to my trip to southern Italy! Smells like a bouquet of citrus and floral. You only need to use a little bit before going out the be the best in the room.5
The cologne has a nice subtle, citrusy scent. Not overpowering in any situation.4
So I recieved this in my womens December Birch Box as a extra. It was something I could give to a male friend. But I loved it so much that I kept it for myself. LOL. It smells amazing.5
This is the type of cologne that you can wear in any weather, any situation, and for any occasion. It's both light and citrus-y while also earthy and lingering, two qualities you'll rarely find in harmony with a fragrance. While, at first, Artisan presents itself as a simpler fragrance, it transforms after about an hour into a more complex set of notes, which is also very nice. Most fragrances tend to come on "full-blast" right when you spray them, so having a fragrance that really opens up a while after being on the skin is great. This is truly a modern classic in the world of fragrances and colognes.5
this is rapidly going to become a signature scent. love the use of tamarind to give the scent an attracting bite. a mans fragrance that makes you smell like a man should with out the overwhelming wood or musk scent5
I bought this fragrance last summer and it has been fantastic. I prefer in the spring/summer months and switch to John Varvatos Vintage in the Fall/Winter. It is a fresh and fairly gender neutral scent.4
I really enjoy this scent its definitely citrusy/sandlewood. Its more of a summer/spring scent but i will certainly use it and eventually ordered but as of i knw i have my sights on a clinique Happy for men. Also it it helps i currently wear Chanel Bleu4
when I first smelled this, I was on the fence about it actually being a men's scent. As a female, I enjoy how men's cologne smells on me; it has a distinct scent that women's perfume doesn't quite reach sometimes. This one, however, seems like it could pass as feminine or masculine, depending on how it reacts to your body's chemistry. the bottle looks interesting and I do enjoy the smell.3
I received this scent in my birchbox and am not a big fan. I regularly use and have full size bottle the John Varvatos Star USA cologne and really like it, but it is a bit more woodsy than this scent is.2
Got the sample and it seemed nice enough in the bottle, but no matter how much I put on, I could hardly smell it. The 3rd time I wore it I accidentally spilled about 1/3 of the sample bottle on my wrist and hand and even then it was only about as strong as most of my other colognes are after a spray or two. It's a nice citrus scent, but it's a bit boring and disappears so quickly, it almost makes me wonder if my sample wasn't somehow defective or really old or something. No way I would order it based on that experience.2
