If you’re rocking a fragrance inherited from your old man, or relying on a goopy deodorant stick for your olfactory game, it’s time to mix things up. Kick off your new scent strategy with this subtle, summery eau de toilette from Motor City designer John Varvatos. It’s the fragrance equivalent of your favorite jeans and a just-washed tee: classic, cool, and easy-going. Even the packaging—a flask wrapped in hand-woven rattan—exudes laid-back class.
This is a good everyday type of cologne. It is not overbearing in smell and you will probably not win over anybody with it, but it very light and refreshing. I have bought John Varvatos colognes before and some have been a little too harsh in smell.3
When choosing a scent, I tend to stay more with the barber shop classics (like grandpa), but John Varvatos Artisan is a nice change of pace.
I really enjoyed the citrus scents, especially when paired with other products from my January Box.
I have read some reviews saying the scent didn't linger, but in my case, I was surprised by its longevity.
This is defiantly more of a spring, summer scent due to its light, dry orange nature. I would recommend this for anyone looking for something a little different.
This is a nice, competent, fresh citrus fragrance. It doesn't last very long, but that's something it shares with most all classic colognes. Nothing harsh or unpleasant about the scent, but nothing really striking either. It does nothing wrong, but nothing really well. Very safe bet. Three stars.3
Very light scent. Not overly manly. It reminds me of the unisex scents that some other companies have come out with. I didn't hate it but I will also not buy it for myself.3
I really like the fragrance, even though its not the best I've tried. I would recommended for everyday, particularly if you work in a very casual environment.3
when I first smelled this, I was on the fence about it actually being a men's scent. As a female, I enjoy how men's cologne smells on me; it has a distinct scent that women's perfume doesn't quite reach sometimes. This one, however, seems like it could pass as feminine or masculine, depending on how it reacts to your body's chemistry. the bottle looks interesting and I do enjoy the smell.3
I don't know if I like this or if I'm neutral! I'm not even sure how to describe the scent!3
My husband is definitely on the fence on this one - just not in love with the scent.3
I gifted this sample to my son, who thought it was clean with a citrus smell. It didn't smell strongly of anything to me. Although he found it reasonably pleasant enough, it wasn't one that would make his rotation.3
This was nice. My husband liked it. I was just okay with it. It didn't wow me. Perhaps that is the point...easy-going was a descriptor.3
