If you’re an old-fashioned kind of guy, you like a quality shoe shine, crisp pocket handkerchiefs, and a traditional straight razor shave. When a jam-packed appointment book doesn’t allow for cut-throat whisker removal, we suggest this concentrated, creamy soap, which brings to mind classic barber shops (especially the Italian variety) with its tingly sensation and old-school packaging.
I wasn't too impressed with this shaving cream. The first issue I noticed is it's lack of lather. I failed to find the classic barber shop effect of it, because it never really lathered up, it kinda just sat on my face like soap would. It also burned my skin, not so much of a tingle but more of a burn. I wouldn't recommend for anyone with sensitive skin.
This is a terrible product. Not only did it burn my skin when I used it it also ruin my very nice razor blade. It was so thick I had trouble getting it on my face and even more trouble getting it off. When I was shaving because it was so thick it got stuck in between my razor blades therefore ruining my blade. I will never buy this product, and if you like your current nice razor I suggest you do not purchase it either.
It shaves nice and has a nice tingle afterwards but I can't get past the smell of it when I put it on my face :(
This may just not have been for me. I was super excited to try it, as I've pretty much stuck to Gillette and other mass-produced products for shaving cream. I loved the old style design. Based on my history, though, maybe that's why this product felt so off to me. It cut nicely but left a lot of residue on my face. Maybe I'll try again and leave another review. Maybe I won't...
The directions state: apply to wet hands and lather up in a creamy foam, however it is impossible to get this product into a creamy foam - no matter how much lathering there is. I have heard rumors of people shaving with peanut butter, while I've never tried it, I imagine it is similar to using this product without the delicious aroma and taste.
I didn't have a chance to try this product although the tube looks very vintage and nice. I don't shave using a traditional razor and this isn't for electrical face addicts like myself.
I have very razor-burn prone skin and have a very difficult time with shaving cream. This was no different than the many others I have tried without success. I have very wiry hair and get razor burn very badly on my neck if I am not careful. This doesn't come close to my normal shave gel.
the idea of using a simple cream to shave with was appealing. however, apart from the menthol, this product left a lot to be desired for me. i dont feel like it gave me as close a shave as i am accustomed to. i felt tiny stubble rubbing against my shirt collar the entire day which was very uncomfortable.
Not really for me. I am sure it will work on other people, just feels weird and dry.
I will stick to the Art of Shaving products that I currently use and are available in stores everywhere.
