Gentlemen of taste often prefer a straight-razor shave—but when there’s no time for the full cutthroat experience, try this concentrated, creamy shaving soap. Three distinctive Italian formulas ensure a truly personal touch, calling to mind barbershops of a bygone era.
Smells great, reminiscent of tea tree oil. Feels pretty nice on the face but applies on a bit too think in my opinion. Face felt moisturized after using it.3
I have been through the gamut of shave creams. The new this, the new that. Gels, butters, creams, lathers, Italian, French…you name it. My problem is my skin is so sensitive, I’ve only found a few things that I actually enjoy using. Let’s face it, shaving isn’t a blast and I think (at least for me) the products I use are the ones that are actually effective for my skin needs. ie won’t dry my face out after use, leave a residue on my face post shaving, make me oily etc. Let’s be real here, we could simply shave with water if it didn’t rip our faces off…but that’s the point of a good shaving product.
I’m no stranger to the Proaso line of products. I’ve also done my fair share of researching these “Shave Clubs†and landed on many a forum about shaving (these exist btw) and everyone likes name dropping Proaso. That’s a good thing. But, for me, I used the sample in its entirety and it didn’t seem like I could get it creamy enough. I’m a non-foaming gel guy these days, so a little goes a long way…but the sample didn’t last much more than 2 shaves for me. Once applied, there were still some razor pulls here and there as well as a little bit of a film left on my face. It’s smell wasn’t too fresh, which I’ve become accustomed to. Overall, I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it. Probably if I had a full size bottle I would grow to like it, it just didn't seem to be enough product to gets my shave on.
I found nothing special or standout about this product. To me, it is as effective (if not less - thin constancy) to any run of the mill shaving cream you could pick up at any big-box retailer.3
This had a very classic smell to it and made me think of a barber shop run 50-60 years ago. It gets the job done but is not something I am going to go out of my way to purchase.3
Was effective for shaving but the eucalyptus oil burned my skin a bit too much for my liking3
I'm not really a shave cream person, but this was fine. I didn't love it.3
About this product, but I felt that the Proraso Shaving Gel didn't live up to expectations lather wise. I've used other gels and creams that lathered up better in the past, and with Proraso's clout, I expected more. I used both hands and brush trying out this lather, but I just couldn't get the thick foam I was looking for. I will certainly try other Proraso products, but this one just wasn't for me.3
using a different on that i much prefer. but i tried this and its fine3
It's not bad, but it's not for me. Has a menthol tingle to it which is the first downside. Not a fan. The cream I usually use lathers up better and lubricates better, but if that's not important to you and you like the tingle, go for it. It's just not for me.3
I received PRORASO Shaving Cream in the July 2014 shipment. I have enjoyed the small sample thus far and will likely order a full size soon. The cream has a pleasant aroma and you almost immediately feel a slight tingling sensation. I especially liked how the light foam it produces allows your razor to slide pretty nicely for a close shave. My face was left feel moist and smooth. Just a note of caution if your skin is sensitive: pat dry, do not rub when drying your face after the shave. It will burn a bit if you rub.3
