Gentlemen of taste often prefer a traditional straight-razor shave. But when your schedule won't allow for cutthroat whisker removal, try this concentrated, creamy soap. Your choice from three distinctive formulas will have its perks: Refresh uses eucalyptus oil to tone and purify skin, plus menthol to deliver a tingly kick. Nourish uses karité butter and sandalwood oil to soften tough beards, producing a smoother, easier shave. Protect taps aloe and Vitamin E to soothe sensitive skin, leaving it soft and hydrated with a crisp, musky scent. Whichever you choose, it'll bring to mind classic barber shops with its no-fuss results and old-school packaging.
First discovered this a few months back with a sample in my box, have ordered the full size 3 times since and have settled on Protective as the best version for my shaving needs. It's goes on soft and smooth and creates a nice moisturizing layer for my rough morning stubble. A little goes along way with this cream and a full tube can last a few weeks if used sparingly. The scent for Protective is less perfumery than the others available, yet had a subtle fragrance which to me smells minty/clinical. Not overpowering. It provides a nice tingle as well.5
I have used a commonly available shaving cream produced by Proraso for a large retail bath products chain that you can find in nearly every mall in the country for years. Though I use this product regularly, I was pleased to see a sample of the regular Proraso product in my monthly BB. I consider this one of the indispensable toiletry kit items for any man that shaves regularly. The thick consistency of the cream gives a nice rich coating to your face and beard that lubricates well as you shave. The smell and tingle of eucalyptus and menthol is super refreshing and a nice addition to my pre-work ritual. If you don't like "minty" scents, or you have very sensitive skin, then this may not be perfect for you, but most men will find that this performs as well or better than any drug store brand shaving cream with the added bonus of the rich scent and bracing cooling effect. My only gripe here is that the sample was not overly large. It is enough to shave about two times. One key to this product (in my opinion) is that it should be used generously enough to really help. My budget for self-indulgence can be stingy at times, but this one is a good enough value to use more liberally and experience the full benefit of the product regularly.5
I enjoyed this shaving cream--it was the perfect consistency for the smooth shave I need.5
A great shave cream in great packaging that helps protect the face and get a good shave. Can't ask for much more than that.5
I enjoyed this product more than I expected. Gets the job done quite well.5
My wife got me a birchbox subscription and I was leery at first but after using this shaving cream I will be looking forward to the samples every month. I thought this shaving cream was great and will definitely purchase in the future5
The texture of this was a bit weird but overall it was a great product.5
Even with the small sample you get a great demo of the product. I have used it three times so far and it is certainly the best I've used. It smells great, it lathers very well with my boar hair brush and it cools the face. I didn't know about this product until Birchbox sent it to me and I am glad they did.5
I liked this shaving cream--I think what really set it apart for me was the menthol, as it created a slight tingly, cooling sensation that's utterly refreshing on a hot summer day.5
Because I have permanent facial hair (it makes me look dignified), I only use this product to get a close shave of the neck area. It worked well, smelled great, and kept my skin moisturized.5
