If you’re an old-fashioned gent, you like a quality shoe shine, crisp pocket squares, and a traditional straight-razor shave. But when a jam-packed schedule doesn’t allow for cutthroat whisker removal, we suggest this concentrated, creamy soap, which brings to mind classic barber shops (especially the Italian variety) with its tingly sensation and old-school packaging.
Product was okay. Was not thick enough and I got shave bumps because it was thin and sheer.2
I used this when I went through my DE phase and it worked very well. I'm back to multi-blade/safety razors..mostly because I prefer to shave in the shower. I'd rather drop the soap in a prison shower than drop a DE. But still have my DE for occasional use and this will definitely get used.4
I liked the texture of this and the way it lathered up. It had a good, clean smell. Left my face feeling soft and smooth too.5
I had never used a shave cream before but i found it less messy and just as effective as a butter.5
I've been brush shaving for over three years now and I have found Proraso to be one of the best. The smell, the cooling effect and the thickness of the lather all make this a truly great shave cream. When it comes to this brand, I've yet to be disappointed.5
First discovered this a few months back with a sample in my box, have ordered the full size 3 times since and have settled on Protective as the best version for my shaving needs. It's goes on soft and smooth and creates a nice moisturizing layer for my rough morning stubble. A little goes along way with this cream and a full tube can last a few weeks if used sparingly. The scent for Protective is less perfumery than the others available, yet had a subtle fragrance which to me smells minty/clinical. Not overpowering. It provides a nice tingle as well.5
I love the way this stuff made my skin feel. The scent was amazing. Unfortunately, I rarely shave. I shaved just to try this product out, and if I were to start shaving regularly, this is what I would be using. As it stands now, I won't be shaving regularly, but this certainly gives me something to think about.3
I have used a commonly available shaving cream produced by Proraso for a large retail bath products chain that you can find in nearly every mall in the country for years. Though I use this product regularly, I was pleased to see a sample of the regular Proraso product in my monthly BB. I consider this one of the indispensable toiletry kit items for any man that shaves regularly. The thick consistency of the cream gives a nice rich coating to your face and beard that lubricates well as you shave. The smell and tingle of eucalyptus and menthol is super refreshing and a nice addition to my pre-work ritual. If you don't like "minty" scents, or you have very sensitive skin, then this may not be perfect for you, but most men will find that this performs as well or better than any drug store brand shaving cream with the added bonus of the rich scent and bracing cooling effect. My only gripe here is that the sample was not overly large. It is enough to shave about two times. One key to this product (in my opinion) is that it should be used generously enough to really help. My budget for self-indulgence can be stingy at times, but this one is a good enough value to use more liberally and experience the full benefit of the product regularly.5
Great shaving cream, allows lubrication for a razor to slide over my face while removing hair and maintaining minimal cuts and nicks.3
I enjoyed this shaving cream--it was the perfect consistency for the smooth shave I need.5
