If you’re an old-fashioned gent, you like a quality shoe shine, crisp pocket squares, and a traditional straight-razor shave. But when a jam-packed schedule doesn’t allow for cutthroat whisker removal, we suggest this concentrated, creamy soap, which brings to mind classic barber shops (especially the Italian variety) with its tingly sensation and old-school packaging.
I thought this product was quite great for shaving. I got no irritation and it seemed to raise all of my hairs for a great clean shave and made my skin feel great!4
This is a classic shaving product. It works and smells good.4
I have been through the gamut of shave creams. The new this, the new that. Gels, butters, creams, lathers, Italian, French…you name it. My problem is my skin is so sensitive, I’ve only found a few things that I actually enjoy using. Let’s face it, shaving isn’t a blast and I think (at least for me) the products I use are the ones that are actually effective for my skin needs. ie won’t dry my face out after use, leave a residue on my face post shaving, make me oily etc. Let’s be real here, we could simply shave with water if it didn’t rip our faces off…but that’s the point of a good shaving product.
I’m no stranger to the Proaso line of products. I’ve also done my fair share of researching these “Shave Clubs†and landed on many a forum about shaving (these exist btw) and everyone likes name dropping Proaso. That’s a good thing. But, for me, I used the sample in its entirety and it didn’t seem like I could get it creamy enough. I’m a non-foaming gel guy these days, so a little goes a long way…but the sample didn’t last much more than 2 shaves for me. Once applied, there were still some razor pulls here and there as well as a little bit of a film left on my face. It’s smell wasn’t too fresh, which I’ve become accustomed to. Overall, I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it. Probably if I had a full size bottle I would grow to like it, it just didn't seem to be enough product to gets my shave on.
I loved the sample so much I purchased the full product. I've never had a shave smother at home. It felt just like a barbers straight razor shave. Very impressed!5
This cream felt good and was non-greasy. The scent was inoffensive. It was good.4
I loved this shaving cream. It lathers very well, smells great and doesn't leave your face dry and red. I will be buying more of this.5
It was nice, I am not big on shaving cream prefer drugstore bough5
My husband said he's never use a "fancy" shave cream, yet the very first time he tried it, he loved it.
It made his hair easier to shave and did not leave his skin rough!
I found nothing special or standout about this product. To me, it is as effective (if not less - thin constancy) to any run of the mill shaving cream you could pick up at any big-box retailer.3
I like this shaving cream. So much that I am currently still working through the bar soap version of this shaving cream right now. Still, I gave this a shot to see if there are any differences. If there are, they are too few to notice. The shaving cream uses eucalyptus and menthol to add a refreshing kick to your shaving routine. It's not going to make your face feel like freshly brushed teeth, but it's a nice refreshing feel. If you get distracted while shaving and take too long to complete the task the cream dries and flakes, making the shave less than perfect. This is easily avoided if you just shave in a timely manner.4
