Gentlemen of taste often prefer a traditional straight-razor shave. But when your schedule won't allow for cutthroat whisker removal, try this concentrated, creamy soap. Your choice from three distinctive formulas will have its perks: Refresh uses eucalyptus oil to tone and purify skin, plus menthol to deliver a tingly kick. Nourish uses karité butter and sandalwood oil to soften tough beards, producing a smoother, easier shave. Protect taps aloe and Vitamin E to soothe sensitive skin, leaving it soft and hydrated with a crisp, musky scent. Whichever you choose, it'll bring to mind classic barber shops with its no-fuss results and old-school packaging.
For 10 bucks, you get a pretty good bang for your buck. I liked how it felt and it was better than SOME of the more expensive shave creams i tried previously. But i would rather pay a bit more to get a better quality shave consistently.4
This product smelled great and the texture was very nice. I would inform anyone to use a little water with this product to keep it from drying out on your skin. My other shaving cream foams without water, so when I used this brand I had to add a little water to keep it feeling slick and smooth on my face.3
I got the "Refresh" as a sample, and would probably not purchase again. It has a really weird doctor's office-type of smell to it and left my skin bumpy and irritated after shaving. It also has this slimy kind of texture that made my face feel greasy, even after I washed it off. Possibly the worst shaving cream I've ever tried.1
I have seen this on here and wanted to try it. I love it .it has a great texture and smells great.5
It applies thin, not like the brand I normally use. Also it sticks to my razor causing excess cleaning.4
I shaved my face for the first time in my life (I'm 29) and used this stuff and wow. I am very impressed. THIS is what shaving should be like. I assume, anyway. No more electric razors for me.5
To start off you instantly notice the classic style of the packaging, not too flashy but unique enough to stand out. I got the REFRESH version of this shaving cream which has a menthol tang to its scent along with a soapy, somewhat chemical note not dissimilar from any other shaving cream. The big difference here is that you are not slathering your face with a thick foam buy a thinner lather. It does a good job of letting your razor slide over and showing you where you still need to shave. If you have any kind of facial hair you want to keep when your shave is done then something like Proraso will let you see what you're doing--rather than a thick foam that might hide where you are swiping those blades. If you've used nothing but canned foam it is time to take a step up and give this a try.4
There are so many shaving gels and foams out there that just seem to make bubbles. Proraso was great and, while it became slightly soapy, was thick enough to do its got excellently. Neutral scent and nice, old-school packaging. I used it with a brush I have for a great shave.5
This shave cream is pretty standard and the scent is non-existent.3
I have used the Proraso shaving cream twice and have been surprised at what a quality product it is. It is thick and covers well with water and moisturizes my skin. I have very sensitive skin and this really helped minimize irritation following shaving. I recommend it!5
