Having inherited more than a few of dad’s rusty shaving foam cans in our teenage years, we’re aware that shaving supplies don’t typically get better with age. Unless you’re talking about a heritage brand like PRORASO. The Italian line’s original preshave cream, with eucalyptus oil and menthol, is still a bestseller. They have also added a calming pre-shave formula that is designed for sensitive skin. You can’t go wrong with either one.
I use the Proraso products on more than my face. The top of my head is bald and I shave the back and sides. I really like the fragrance of this pre-shave and you can feel the tingling at work.3
It smells weird, but outside of that it's really soothing and refreshing. It really gets the face ready for a good shave.3
I purchased the refresh version of this and I can certainly say it is just that - refreshing. The Menthol certainly comes through when using this. In the morning or evening it is quite nice - but compared to The Art of Shaving Pre-Shave oil - it doesn't really make that much a difference to the shave. Make sure you have some face wash to use after your shave otherwise this stuff will stay with you all day. Tried the Ursa Major with it and it works great together.
Recommend if you are looking for a wake up call in the morning.
Look to the unscented version of TAOS if you want a smoother shave.
I bought the Refresh shave cream, and aftershave and decided to throw this in the virtual cart for the heck of it. I like it. It smells great, and does what it is suppose to but honestly I learned that I'm just not a fan of shave creams. I don't notice much of a difference if I use it or not. Maybe this is because I use other Proraso products. (I use the green refresh line exclusively) I don't know but to me it just seems like an unnecessary step in my shaving routine. Don't think I'll repurchase but other than this I can't say enough good things about Proraso. They know their stuff when it comes to shaving! Support them!3
I had to get the pre shave cream to along with the Proraso shaving cream to get the maximum shave. The Italians certainly knew what they were doing when they created this, wakes the hairs right up so you can get that close, comfortable shave. Would give it 5, but it does not apply as well as there shave cream.4
I really enjoy the light and fresh feel if this pre shave cream. My face is simply debt into a frenzy with the cool menthol and light airy feel of the cream. That elusive protective barrier that we all strive for is what I would call okay in this product and is really all that is keeping it from 5 stars. Overall best bang for the price, and the soothing feeling you get before you apply your shave cream is second to none.4
i really enjoyed this stuff. it lathered nice and made for a smooth shave. i wil be purchasing more very soon for further use4
This is a great cream for those who want to "preserve" their razors in a way that Oils do not permit. It softens the skin and opens things up nicely. Like all proraso products it is mentholated, so be prepared.4
My shaving routine is to normally apply a hot towel after i scrub my face for a few minutes and then directly apply shaving cream and shave twice (with the grain and then perpendicular) to avoid a lot of nicks...yet I always have at least one. With the pre-shave cream being used in between my hot towel and shaving cream (and allowing a few minutes to sit) I had zero nicks and felt like I was allowing the blade to glide a little better on my skin.4
I purchased this pre-shave cream because i purchased the shaving cream. I did not notice any better of a shave with this product. I am not down playing the Proraso by any means i love the shave cream and will be staying with this brand for a long time.4
