While the word patchouli might call to mind images of the hippie generation, this sophisticated fragrance couldn’t be further from that. Designed by Atelier Cologne’s fragrance expert Jérome Epinette, Mistral Patchouli uses grapefruit and black pepper notes to enhance a base of Indonesian patchouli. Equal parts zesty and earthy, the enticing result is more “leading man” than “flower child.”
I didn't particularly enjoy this scent. It is more of a musk and borders a man's cologne. When I tried it on my skin, it reminded me too much of a light scented topical medication or vapor rub. I can only imagine using this scent on expensive stationary.1
This is one of the worst scents Birchbox has sent me. Just yuck.1
This smell is too earthy for my liking. I absolutely detest any perfume that smells similar to patchouli.1
I am really not a fan of this scent. "Earthy" is a fair term for it, but that's a negative coming from me. It smells like plants and herbs but in the least feminine possible way. If I decide to smell like a succulent display, I'll just rub basil on my wrists. I will say that after I accidentally spilled the sample while trying to see what it smelled like, the yucky plantyness stayed on my hands through several hand washings and a shower, so if you do like it, it'll be around for a good long while.1
This scent was just too masculine for me, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to use it or give it to my boyfriend. If you want to smell like a man, buy this now.1
Patchouli always reminds me of a dreadlocked hippie. Not a pretty girl.1
The only good thing I can say about this is that it was long lasting, the bad thing is it was the one I didn't want to last. No strong, too "old lady" like for my 30 yr old self :)1
This scent was not for me, it was way to strong and overpowering. I like lighter scents definitely.1
I did not like this scent I gave it to my Boyfriend to try it out and it was wayy to potent! It was like a mix of patchouli and musk which to me is not a good combo however the packaging was really nice I loved the postcard very nice touch.1
The scent was way too powerful. It honestly reminded me of one of those older lady perfumes that you can't stand to smell (no offense to those ladies). I just couldn't handle wearing it for even 5 minutes.1
