While the word patchouli might call to mind images of the hippie generation, this sophisticated fragrance couldn’t be further from that. Designed by Atelier Cologne’s fragrance expert Jérome Epinette, Mistral Patchouli uses grapefruit and black pepper notes to enhance a base of Indonesian patchouli. Equal parts zesty and earthy, the enticing result is more “leading man” than “flower child.”
This seems like a very nice fragrance - if you like patchouli. Which I do NOT. I gave this to a friend of mine who remembers the 70s personally and she love-love-loves it. Not for me, though.
I didn't think this smelled anything like patchouli. The smell was very strong and cheap smelling. Just not for me.
This scent just wasn't for me. It was too earthy and I honestly hated the smell.
I did not like this cologne. Yes, it is unique, but the fruity and floral was completely overwhelmed by the patchouli. I had a headache within five minutes of trying this out. It does have lasting power, but the scent was just too earthy for me. I would not describe this as a super feminine scent, but I think someone who likes more earthy and masculine scents would enjoy this.
this perfume smelled way too strong, and smelled more like men's cologne than women's perfume. i will never wear this scent
I received a sample of Citrus perfume from this brand before and was quite pleased with it, so I was excited to get more from them with this box. Unfortunately for me, it was patchouli scented-I'm not that enamored with patchouli, so much so that it can lead to migraines.
I consider myself pretty adventurous when it comes to trying new scents, but this just did not work for me. I like unisex-smelling fragrance, but this was masculine to the point that I could have gone unnoticed (by smell) in a men's country club locker room. Maybe it's just my particular body chemistry, but epic fail.
Not for me. Didn't like the fragrance...and unisex? Unnecessary. We can have different smells.
I didn't particularly enjoy this scent. It is more of a musk and borders a man's cologne. When I tried it on my skin, it reminded me too much of a light scented topical medication or vapor rub. I can only imagine using this scent on expensive stationary.
This is one of the worst scents Birchbox has sent me. Just yuck.
