While the word patchouli might call to mind images of the hippie generation, this sophisticated fragrance couldn’t be further from that. Designed by Atelier Cologne’s fragrance expert Jérome Epinette, Mistral Patchouli uses grapefruit and black pepper notes to enhance a base of Indonesian patchouli. Equal parts zesty and earthy, the enticing result is more “leading man” than “flower child.”
This cologne smells great. It doesn't have the overpowering scent of patchouli, just enough to do the trick.4
I'm not a big fan of Patchouli scents. It reminds me of hippy girls that are trying to cover up the smell of something else. ;)3
Smell is very subjective and to me this isn't my favorite cologne but it may be someone else's favorite so its hard to write a review for.3
I do love Atelier Cologne but I did not like this sent at all. The Patchouli Cologne was not a good smell for me.5
This fragrance might work for some, but it doesn't work for me. I'm glad I got it as a sample rather than spending $125 on the full size. I typically go for the citrusy/summer scents, and this does not fit into that category for me.3
If you want people to sniff the air and look around wondering where that smell is coming from then this is your cologne. But don't be surprised when the look on their face shows nothing but disgust.2
Colorado but I do not like this scent never have never will. With that out there on to the review. Opened that little vile of ugly to see how it smelled not knowing what the main scent was and I got some on my hand well that about killed me. It is very strong overpoweringly so. If you like Patchouli or let me rephrase that if you LOVE patchouli and I mean really love it then you my friend have found your new best friend. Me I will keep looking.1
It smells manly and strong. What Birchbox man should always provide. Not emo neckties with dogs on them.4
I change up my cologne on a daily basis, although I tend to go for more floral, citrusy scents for the summer months. Unfortunately this was far too spicy and woodsy for my liking this time of year, and doesn't quite fill any holes in my current scent collection.2
The smell is really great, and I usually pay a decent amount for cologne, but this price is just too high for me.4
