While the word patchouli might call to mind images of the hippie generation, this sophisticated fragrance couldn’t be further from that. Designed by Atelier Cologne’s fragrance expert Jérome Epinette, Mistral Patchouli uses grapefruit and black pepper notes to enhance a base of Indonesian patchouli. Equal parts zesty and earthy, the enticing result is more “leading man” than “flower child.”
I was not a fan of this smell.. I'm not a big fan of "earthy" smells though so that might be why. I feel like it smelled a lot like incense.1
I have to admit I am a fan of the sweeter smelling perfumes but I think I've found my new favorite. I like to change up perfumes frequently but this perfume works great with my body chemistry. It's a little strong at first but it dissipates in strength before I get to work leaving a lingering earthy/new rain smell. I'll probably save up to get the full bottle or put it on my birthday wishlist.4
I wasn't a big fan of this product,I felt it was way more masculine,so I gave it to my younger cousin who seem to like it more...2
Not a fan of patchouli! This is very concentrated and strong. Was too much for me. I will not be purchasing this one.1
The description says it's unisex, but I disagree. The scent is very rugged and masculine. I tried it on my fiance, but it was very overpowering and he did not enjoy it either.1
I HATED the way this smelled. I'm sorry but its was overpowering and too musty for me. You could smell it from miles a way1
I actually like the scent, but the sample packaging made it difficult to apply without going overboard. Also, it's way out of my price range.3
I was going through my samples reviewing them and didnt even remember getting this one. This scent is straight up man smell. I love getting birchbox..and I never complain since I know its samples..but Im a bit upset that this was even sent to me at some point. What a waste..I must have had some cool stuff in my box that month to overlook this awful smell. I wouldnt even think a man smelled good if he wore it. This is for your grandpa.1
Yes, its pricey. However, it is a classic and professional scent. It would work well on either a male or female but seems to mesh well with my body chemistry. I like deep, warm and slightly musky scents. This is on the deeper side of that- but it smells amazing. Hard to describe- but clean, deep and warm. Great for the workplace- I would suggest wearing this as opposed to cheaper and more whimsical perfume to a board meeting.5
I'm all about perfumes and variety of aromas, but this was just a little too extreme for me in terms of patchouli. Maybe if I mixed it with something else and wore it in the winter, it'd be doable.3
