Tired of the cupcake craze? So is Three Tarts founder Marla D’Urso, who thinks it’s time for a new sweet obsession: Marshmallows. We don’t need a lot of convincing, and these small-batch puffs are far from your typical grocery store variety. D’Urso and her co-bakers craft their small-batch squares to be perfectly squishy, with a smooth texture and sophisticated flavor.
I got these in vanilla- they are less dense than store bought, and the flavour is really weird. It doesn't remind me of vanilla, but it does remind me of root beer. You can really taste the gelatin, too. I tried making smores with them, and they became crunchy on the outside and liquid on the inside. If these were $5 I wouldn't be as let down, and maybe their other flavours are good, but I'm dissapointed. No one in our house liked them, and we ended up throwing away half the package.1
I like marshmallows, but I did not like these. I got a sample of the cinnamon flavor with high hopes, but after tasting them I was disappointed. The cinnamon was more spicy/tart than it was sweet and, in my opinion, it did not mix well with the marshmallow taste. I shared some with my friend and she agreed that they were nothing special. I would much rather stick with regular marshmallows!2
I really liked these- but be prepared to eat them quickly. They're really rich but dry out quickly. They're perfect for a delicious hot cocoa.
I have now bought the vanilla and rosemary chocolate versions of these. I looked the vanilla ones although I couldn't really detect a distinct vanilla flavor. The rosemary chocolate are very heavy on the rosemary and light on the chocolate flavor. I've had a rosemary mocha before in Portland and thought that these would be similarly refreshing. They're okay. I don't hate them, but I don't love them.3
I think Rosemary/Chocolate was the wrong choice for me, sometin about the rosemary flavor and being green and brown just wasn't for me!3
I got these in my Snow Day sample box. I love the big square shape and texture but they are too spicy for me! I prefer traditional marshmallows!3
I was super excited to try these. The texture is awesome, they melt really well, but the flavor is way too subtle. I was expecting real vanilla, but these reminded me of a mass produced grocery store brand3
I bought these and enjoyed them by themselves and also having them with a cup of cocoa. They are perfect with chai tea! They come in a pack of 10, so they lasted me a few days which was longer than I thought they would last!4
these marshmallows are really gourmet and the cinnamon flavor is amazing. i will definitely continue purchasing these in the future4
4 Stars for flavor, -1 star for price. Expensive, delicious marshmallows that are a must try at least once in your life!4
