There’s something so liberating about going sockless—until your feet start sweating. And while powders and foot deodorants will absorb some of the perspiration and odor, there’s no way to fully replace the myriad benefits of a sock without actually wearing one. Here’s the ultimate solution: no-show socks, which give the appearance of bare feet without the smelly side effects.
I like the idea as no one wants to have smelly feet but, darn things wouldn't stay on through out the day and I found myself digging into my shoes quite often.2
I have been searching for these forever. I have even been temped to buy women's socks. Not normal for a guy to do. I have not been able to locate the right socks that are low profile enough to wear without being seen. Finally I have found them. Cool colors too, even if you can't see them.5
As many have said, they slip off a bit easy. On the other hand though they are very comfortable, they look good, and you feel good wearing them. The design makes them easy to put on, and after a minute you really forget you even have any socks on. All in all they create comfort, a great look, and are a cool item to have ready in your sock drawer when you need them.4
Received in my May 2013 box. I've been on the lookout for the next evolution of the no-show sock and I thought I had a winner with its thin fabric, silicone dots on the heels, elastic bands near the start of the arch & back of sock, and an all-in-one concept. Alas, these were also the reasons I cannot use them.
The Thin fabric plus the elastic band near the arch made the front of the sock enforced but then not enough to keep it in the back.
The silicone dots and the back elastic band are too small to not only keep the sock on heel while in shoe but also when you're putting it on. When I've put the sock on, it can barely reach over my heels.
Finally this all-in-one concept sounds great, but I believe it applies for the ladies and not us guys. With the narrower and smaller size of a woman's foot (average size between 7-8 [which is a men's 5-6]), the ideas noted above would work better on them.
The "one size" is too small for my husband's average sized feet, but he gave his to me and I like them! I'm not fond of the red, but the grey color is nice and neutral. While I do think a good pair of socks is worth $10... make sure they fit!3
Just in time to pull out my summer shoes, these socks come in my Birchbox and I love them! They hide perfectly in my loafers and the grippers that help grip the sock to your foot is such a life saver! The are very comfortable and I will be buying more very soon. Thanks for sending out such awesome products!5
When I got these in my Box, I was a bit perplexed and hesitant to try these. But I gave it a shot and wore them with shorts and some sneakers. I liked the "no-show" look but they did slip off once or twice. However, this was less frequent than my other no-show socks which I sometimes avoid wearing because they slip so often, so these one-up'd those. I did feel awkward being shoeless, I felt like I was wearing ballet slippers, so this is recommended for guys who aren't insecure with judgements and silly comments, but I didn't experience much of that. I liked them. Easy care, provides a great "no-show" look, and comfortable.4
These things are rad. I was literally just telling my girlfriend how I needed some socks for my moccasins when these things appeared in the mail. They keep my mocs from gettin sweaty and they don't show at all. Awesome, highly recommend.5
Sometimes comes off and then I have to take off my shoe and put the sock back over my foot. When this happens in public it makes me feel like I'm adjusting my pantyhose!3
These are a great idea, but the wild colors are a bit offputting in person. Not sure how a lady would react, looks kind of like you got stuck on laundry day. Like the idea if these colors are your thing.3
