Remember how cool it was every time one of the Transformers would unravel into a robot? Well, these folding sunglasses operate under the same awesome principle. Available in both black and tortoiseshell, these stylish shades feature a timeless silhouette that will flatter any face. They also come with a handy storage case to ensure they don’t get stepped on or scratched when not in use. Think of them as the Optimus Prime of eyewear.
I got the sample and the screws fell off. They sent me another one and it happened again . I was quite disappointed.1
Received these in the June box, and will use them as a spare pair, keep in the car or something like that. Don't think they look great on me and I prefer polarized, but for what they are, not bad.4
Another great product for the BirchBox. The sunglasses are very comfortable. The folding feature makes this a very compact product.5
The only time I use shades is when I'm driving, so I don't get blinded by the sun or glare in my eyes. Beyond that, I avoid shades because I hate having those sunglass tans.
Putting these on, the first thing I noticed was that they were a little small for my face; the sides felt like they were hugging my sideburns. Oddly enough though, the nose-bridge felt a little too wide, and the shades kept sliding down my nose. Ultimately, these aren't even my style of shades.
However, they are of pretty decent quality, and have UV protection. This would make a good gift for someone. Just not me.
Add the fact that the foldy-bendy thing is in right now, and these are perfect.
Frame and lens color are both good, and hinges seem like they'll hold up.
My only thought is that as shipped, they might be tight on larger heads. Just use a blowdryer to bend out the arms if that's you.
I like the styling of the glasses but unfortunately cannot use them since I need prescription sunglasses.1
Great styling. However, I'm Filipino so I don't have much of a nose bridge. So the glasses sit on my cheek and there's a gap between the glasses and my nose.1
The person who said they are Persol lookalikes has clearly never seen Persols. I actually have a pair and you can tell immediately that these are cheap imitations, just by weight alone. I received the black in my box, and would not recommend this color. I think for $25 you'd be better off forgoing the benefit from smaller footprint and just get a $10 pair of imitation wayfarers instead. A huge flaw is that they have zero reflection, so you look like a noob wearing them in this day and age. Everyone I showed them to thought the box they came in was the best part!2
The idea, style, packaging, and color of this product is spot-on. I was happy after opening the package and finding a pair of back-up sunglasses. Unfortunately, the shades broke after 3 uses - and not by accident.... by design.
The metal clip that forms the hinge of the folding shades is made of cheap pot metal. After minimal use and ZERO stress on the product structure, the pot metal gave way and left me with two halves of sunglasses.
These shades were actually better quality than I expected. They sit really close to the face though.3
