While jumping out of a plane or swimming with sharks might give you more of a rush, this scrub will add some slightly safer excitement to your shower routine. Gritty but still gentle enough to use several times a week, this electrifying essential helps skin look and feel smooth. The added peppermint oil provides a cooling tingle that lasts long after you’ve dried off.
I'm not a big fan of the scent. If you like the minty tingling feeling a face scrub gives you then this is your product. The scent was too overpowering for me.1
I've had some bad experiences with products from Billy Jealousy in the past and was not expecting much from this particular product when I received a sample in my box. The scrub is very thick (and hard to get out of the small sample bottle), but it does have a nice fragrance (though the tingle is really unwanted). However, it does not work very well as a cleanser, as it stays fairly thick and somewhat insoluble. I recommend Anthony Logistics's Sea Salt Body Scrub instead. Although fragrance (and, happily, tingle) free, it creates a more effective scrubbing surface and makes me 100% feel cleaner than the Billy Jealousy scrub.1
I really did not like this product. I personally like a body wash that produces a heavy lather. I could never get a good lather to really appreciate the energizing aspects of the product. The smell is great however.1
My first use of this sample was enough to know that I'd NOT be buying any. Quite literally the first dab of it from the bottle had me seriously doubting any interest. It looks like someone put rough grit into hotel shampoo. Unfortunately, it's less useful than that.
While the pepperminty scent is something I normally enjoy, it came off as weak and entirely for decorative purpose. There's no cleansing feeling, more like lotion with sand in it.
I have tried lots of different face scrubs in the past. In my opinion, given the price of this product it is not worth it at all. I could not tell that it did anything when I tried it. Using a scrub is part of my normal pre-shave routine and when I used this product, it was one of the worst shaves I had in a long time.
This was the 3rd facial scrub product I've received in my birchboxes and this was my least favorite. The smell wasn't invigorating, and there wasn't much in the way of 'scrub'. It didn't leave my face feeling clean, scrubbed, invigorated, or anything. I threw this away after 2 tries.1
So, I was really excited because I loved the LiquidSand by Billy Jealousy, but this product was disappointing. The mint in the product was what I was most excited about, but instead of energizing/invigorating skin it left my skin with a burning feeling and seemed to dry my face out. The small exfoliant beads in the wash were also not very effective, they were too large and there were not enough in there to actually exfoliate my face. Over all after a couple uses I wont use this product or buy it in the future.1
I wrote a review already but I'll recant anything I said; I have combination skin and the next day after using this my skin was peeling all over!1
received this as a sample in my first birch box.... used it once and was disappointed.. even though it had a great smell, it didn't lather like i would assume a scrub/body wash would do.. definitely won't be buying this product1
I never thought I'd be allergic to peppermint, but the smell overwhelms, burns your eyes, and I broke out in a rash on my forehead. Yikes!1
