Were suckers for a minty, tingly shampoo—it gives us the feeling that something is happening. And in the case of this protein-enriched shampoo, something really is happening: This pearlescent formula eradicates accumulated grime (thanks to tea tree oil), ups your strands' elasticity and strength (courtesy of oat proteins and amino acids), and promotes hair growth (cheers, cinnamon bark extract).
I am baffled by the 4 and 5 star reviews on this one? The product description sounds awesome! The actual shampoo and conditioner...not so much.
I have short, fine, blond hair but require several pumps to get any kind of lather going on my head and it doesn't feel like a satisfying shampoo on any metric. I tried really to like this product...because frankly I am now stuck with it. But I find myself looking for *any* other shampoo in my shower. This is the least favorite option.
I decided to try this out because I was out of my normal go-to shampoo (M+G Peppermint). Within a day or two of using it, my scalp began flaking heavily. I sometimes get a flake or two in the winter when the air starts to dry out but never anything like this.
I switched back to my normal shampoo and my scalp went back to normal. Just to be sure I tried it again 2 weeks later and I started flaking heavily the very next day. I've tried lots of different shampoos with peppermint, tea tree oil, etc in the past and have never had this problem. Really disappointed and hoping others aren't having the same issues.
I have to use twice an much as I would. any other shampoo id use half tha. Its doesnt lather & I am not impressed. I will not be buying it again. I really like baxters stuff but they need to work on the shampoo. I do not recomend it. The conditioner is pretty good though!1
Sounds like the shampoo has everything I want it to have and do. But I wish it didn't have Methylparaben. I wish it had more natural and organic ingredients. Hopefully they come out with a line that is Parabens and petrochemical free1
The only item that comes though BB i can not use at all is shampoo, unless it has anti-dandruff qualities. I consistently use dandruff shampoo in order to keep it tame, so this will not be getting used. I know my shampoo stinks to high heaven but I will use a nice smelling conditioner afterwards, which makes shampoo scent, IMO, useless. That being said, this stuff has a horrible mint scent. I would not want my whole head smelling like a tube of toothpaste.1
This shampoo made my hair feel like a bail of hay. My hair was then matted and greasy within 8 hours of use. I'll stick with my sulfate-free Suave Professionals, thank you.1
I'm a fan of Baxter of California products. However, I was pretty disappointed with the daily protein shampoo mainly because it wasn't effective. I use hair gel/wax daily and my hair would get somewhat greasy after awhile. The shampoo is supposed for all kind of hair but it didn't do it for me, I had to wash my hair twice because it felt uncleaned. Anyways, I purchased the regular size one and probably won't buy it again. I do like Baxter's other products though..2
It's a nice shampoo, feels clean, doesn't cause insane stress on your hair or anything. However it doesn't have any particular about it that really stands out. It just is. I'd rather find a shampoo that had something that made me love it.2
This shampoo is not good for thick curly hair. It's not very slippery, so it's hard to lather and massage into hair and scalp. There is not much of a fragrance, I'd actually prefer a tiny bit more aroma. It also feels very strong, and may be drying out my hair. The strength/feel reminds me of Neutrogena.2
The shampoo didn't rinse easily and left a film in my hair throughout the day. The spearmint smell was off putting as well.2
