If you can't pop into Baxter's L.A. barbershop—a throwback with vintage porcelain chairs and hot towel treatments—this shave cream is the next best thing. A smooth, spreadable formula provides a protective barrier for skin and ensures a smooth shave. Tea tree oil, witch hazel, menthol, and peppermint prevent razor burn while leaving behind the signature tingle of a shave well-done.
Very effective shaving cream with a subtle scent. I'd recommend.4
Maybe you need a beaver brush, straight razor, hot towels and someone else to get a good shave from this--using my hands to lather left a thin not-great coat of 'shave formula.' I've used better products.3
I have sensitive skin so it's always been hard to find a shaving cream or gel that really has the full package while protective sensitive skin. This product comes in an 8 oz tub, it's cream so it's going to last a very long time. I feel like this is the closest shave I've had and always feel smooth after using. The price is well worth it.5
I was really impressed with this shave cream. Great scent and helped get a really close shave. Highly recommend.5
I really like how light the shave cream is and how close of a shave you can achieve.5
I usually get upset when I get duplicate Birchbox items... But not this time. This is my favorite shave formula; close shave, no residue, works well on my sensitive skin5
This is a great shave cream. I normally use an electric razor but thought I would give this a try. I liked it!5
I am pretty set in my shave routine but this product was nice and a welcome change of pace. Worked well with the Baxter after shave gel.4
I was excited to try this shaving product, but ended up being a little disappointed. First, the application of the "cream" is not what I wanted. I'm used to building up a nice lather with my creams, I did not get this. The packaging suggests to use a badger brush, but I thought it was more effective to use my hands. I was able to produce a very thin layer of protection which made the shave feel like I was only using water. I did not cut myself, so the product did protect, but the lack of lather made me weary.
I thought the highlight of the cream came from the "healing properties." After my first pass with a safety razor and before the second, I could already feel the cream taking effect on my skin. It was very soothing.
My only other complaint is the smell. It wasn't substantial, but I am not a big fan of peppermint. It's not an over powering smell, but it was enough that I was turned off by it.
Overall, the product was okay. I would not purchase it, but it was a goo sample.
I like (and own) some Baxter products, but find this doesn't allow as close, smooth or nick-free a shave as other products.3
