Old Spice is the granddaddy of deodorants, and chances are your very own grandpa used the stuff way back in his skirt-chasing days. So it’s no surprise that their bar soap is a top-quality product through and through. Infused with the classically refreshing Pure Sport scent, this shower ledge staple gets your skin squeaky clean the old-school way.
i was surprised by this as it is something i would pick up at my local CVS and not expecting in my birch box. i used it and really didnt like it. generic soap smell1
I keep it in my travel bag that's in the rear of the car. It'll get you clean, but I don't care for the scent and it always leaves me a little filmy feeling. Not recommended.1
The first thing you notice here is the scent.
That's the problem.
I wanted to like this, I did, the scent came off as powerful, but not too bad, and I figured it would be one of those scents that smelled strong in the shower, and on the skin was pretty good.
Its not. I took a brief smell of it in the box. It was okay. I pulled it out of the box. Still okay. I brought it to my nose to smell, and the allergic reaction hit. I reboxed it up and brought to the living room.
Where I could still smell it through the room.
This isn't too bad of a scent, but its far too strong, and causes me to not be able to breathe.
Ew. No one ever should buy this! It leaves residue on your skin! It smells awful too! Just save your self and don't buy!1
Really? Old Spice in a Birchbox?! I thought we were supposed to be receiving a well curated collection of high-end products, not drug store junk. The scent is overwhelming and this is not a soap that is good for skin.1
I strongly believe that Old Spice belongs in a High School locker room, and not in a Birchbox shipment. I was surprised to see this, and despite the new smell, Old Spice is still too overpowering and just manages to overpower.1
Not a product I would expect to see here. My grandmother used to give me soap on a rope every year for christmas.....same as it always was.1
I am a fan of old spice in general and often buy their body wash. I wanted to like the soap but it totally dried out my skin and i had to stop using it.1
Don't send me soap that smells like an old man. Who uses bar soap anymore anyways? Would not recommend this to anyone. Threw it in the back of my medicine cabinet for a future visiting guest.1
"Great scent" is not my number one criteria for choosing body wash/bar soap. Quite frankly, I'm a little baffled Birchbox included this in their sampling. Sure, I understand their rationale for it, but getting an Old Spice bar of soap isn't why I have a subscription with them. The soap? It's bar soap - I don't use it because they leave my skin dry and flaky. But I guess now I have a bar of soap to give to my guests the next time they visit.1
