It doesn’t matter if you buy them in bulk or on sale, razor blades still set you back a pretty penny. The fine folks at HYD For Men have found a solution: science. This Razor Shield combines natural oils with some impressive scientific abracadabra to keep your blades from corroding. Longer-lasting razors mean more smooth shaves, less environmental waste, and more money in your pocket.
Although it seems like a good idea, I didn't notice any effect on my blades....1
i use a safety razor and the blades are dirt cheap. i really don't care about prolonging their life.1
not sure this does anything to prolong blades, I'd rather spend my money on something to make my face more comfortable rather than my razor blades1
this adds another step to an already annoying process. Not even sure if it works. I've got a lot of money tied up in razors.1
This only adds another step into my mornings; one that I don't need. Though I haven't put any of it on my straight razor, I'm not sure that I will.1
I use electric but I broke out the blade to try this product. I didn't find it effective.1
I'd rather spend the money on new blades to guarantee safety/cleanliness than to purchase a product I don't necessarily trust. I will see how long the blades actually last but I just have trouble using this... however, I already have enough products in my medicine cabinet and dop kit!1
"As any guy can attest, over time razors become oxidized, calcified and generally pretty cruddy. This compound of natural oils acts as a barrier between your blade and chemical corrosion to extend the lifespan of your razor."
I cannot attest for this. When I used cartridge razors, I threw one out every week.

I switched to double edge razors, they are $.09 a piece and I get 3 shaves out of each and toss them.
No oxidation, calcium buildup, or cruddy razors.
Most razors are stainless steel. Straight Razors are carbon steel.
If you have a straight razor, this product may be for you. If not, I would not try this product.
I understand that razor blades are expensive and this product is supposed to make them last longer, but I don't really see the need for it. I used my sample that I had received and I did not see a difference.2
Since switching to a single blade razor and kit, I don't really see the point in using this stuff. However, there are others who still use disposables. At the time I received my sample I was still using disposables and I would always apply after a shave. To tell you the truth, I'm not really sure it worked, but it seems like a nice addition.2
