You’re a mountain man: You prefer scaling cliffs to the treadmill, and have never heard of spin class. Scrub down with this brawny bar, which contains a slew of hydrating oils like olive, coconut, hemp, and soybean, all blended into a shea butter base. Deeply cleansing and never drying, this soap will leave you smelling as fresh as a forest—and feeling like you could chop wood with your bare hands.
Received this pine tar scent along with a few others. To be quite honest, the pine tar scent smells like a dirty urinal. Not kidding! It was great for the exfoliation, yet HORRIBLE in regards to fragrance!! However, I did like all the other bars just fine. Moss one was my favorite!1
I love the smell but not on me. Plus, the black bar stained my shower as it dripped down the wall. That was not amusing. I also found the twigs and such blended with the soap to be painful to scrub with. It went in my trash promptly.1
I am all for a rugged soap but this was a disappointment on all levels. The smell is overpowering and not that great, the soap is gritty to the point of discomfort, it leaves more of a sticky residue feeling than most bar soaps, and it also basically melted in my shower to the point that it's just a sticky brick on my soap dish. I had to scrape it off and throw it in the garbage. One of the most disappointing products I've tested.1
In opening my BirchBox, I was hit with the scent of this bar! It overpowered everything in the box. I was leery of trying it out due to the scent, and like I thought it is VERY STRONG. Besides the smell, all other aspects of the soap were good, lathers up well and cleans well. I wish that they had packaged the soap in something that would keep the scent more contained.1
Smells TERRIBLE. "Pine Tar" are you kidding? I should just douse myself in Pine-Sol. Terrible, scratchy, does not lather well. Do not recommend1
I thought this was a gag gift. It feels like you're punishing your skin, it turns your skin to a tar-like dark black color (you look filthy), stains your bathtub, and makes you smell like a pine tree car freshener. This is such an awful product and I can't believe this is actually stocked by Birchbox. Also, you've gotta love the packaging and how it dissolves and falls apart in your hand... Yikes.1
1. I was undecided on the scent, but decided it smelled more like Pine Sol than an outdoorsy scent
2. The worst was that you could physically see the black running off your body (the soap is black). I felt like I was rolling in mud.
All in all, I can't imagine who would actually like this.
The stuff smells great. The problem was, it stained my shower the color of the soap. It took a good hour to clean it all off and for that reason alone, I will not be buying this product. The brand should of done a bit of research before they used the dye...1
This product was baffling to me. Why would I want to clean myself with a product named "Pine Tar". The smell of the bar is quite overwhelming - taking over everything in my box. The texture of the bar is extremely coarse. Do not make the mistake of applying this bar directly to your skin or you will look like you got into a quarrel with a chipmunk. 1 star.1
Too gritty and strong smelling for my taste and daily use. It might be good if I worked in dirt1
