Marathon sessions of Breaking Bad, late-night Facebooking, and incessant Instagramming can be tough on the already-sensitive skin around your eyes. Since stepping away from the computer screen is probably not an option, consider instead this natural eye gel from Yes To™ Cucumbers. The soothing formula reduces puffiness, brightens dark circles, and strengthens the delicate skin under your eyes.
This product is marked for sensitive skin however for me it proved not to be. I initially loved the results it provided, within moments a noticeable difference in the under eye area, puffiness totally gone! However after a few weeks it started having the opposite affect, within moments of using it my under eye area would turn bright red and super swollen! I tested it a few times, putting it on under my face cream/ making sure my hands were extra clean etc etc but no dice. Had to toss it out at 80% full to keep myself from using it again, the only way to get rid of the swelling and redness was a cold compress for about a half hour!. Needless to say, I cannot use this product.
1I was a bit skeptical when I first bought this, but I decided to get it to test out anyways. I was pretty surprised at how big it actually is (most eye products are about 0.5oz or less). It does feel very soothing on the under eye area and I was surprised to see that it does help with puffiness (I've had bags under my eyes ever since I was little). However, my happiness was short lived when, no less than a half hour later, I began to apply makeup. As soon as I started patting concealer under my eyes, I noticed that the product had begun rolling up into tiny little balls, ruining not only my application, but also making it hard to remove said clumps. I've experimented with using less product and waiting even longer between applying it and then putting makeup on, but it hasn't made much of a difference. I'll probably keep trying until something works out, because it's really great at de-puffing.
3I was a little disappointed with this product since i am a regular of the YesTo line. I use the Carrot line without much issue, but when i saw this was for sensitive skin, i decided to try it out. Unfortunately this product does nothing but burn the skin around my eyes. I am sticking with the Carrot line.
1I use this 3-4 times per day.
Wake up first thing- apply a small amount under each eye. Be gentle- the skin under your eyes is super fragile.
Brush teeth, floss, hop in the shower.
By the time I'm out of the shower, shaved, etc, a lot of the morning dark circles/ puffiness has subsided.
I reapply a small amount before hopping in the car for my morning commute.
When I get home and I have the haggard eyes from looking at a computer screen all day, I hit the eyes one more time with this stuff.
Lastly, just before bed, put a small amount on.
This regimen has revitalized my face ! I no longer get dark circles, and have noticed that the tiny wrinkles under my eyes are repairing/ not worsening. 28-year old guy, never to early to start some preventative maintenance.
Only reason it is not 5 stars: if you apply too much / it dries out, you can have sort of a film/peel situation going on. It's not super noticeable, but I have sometimes rubbed above my cheekbone and gotten the dried product on my fingers. Kind of has the consistency of pencil eraser shavings, and are clear/ light white.
This can give the appearance that your skin is peeling in that area. Checking your reflection in your phone throughout the day solves problem. (Good habit for checking teeth after lunch too).
